Condescending comments or am I overthinking?
Not sure what sub this should go into, but I’d love to hear all perspectives: I got a sew-in a few weeks ago and the comments my stylist made has me feeling confused.
I typically do a shoulder length bob (sew-in that looks identical to what my hair would look like as a silk press). I got a sew-in longer than I usually do for an upcoming event and she says something along the lines of, “You got your big girl bundles” and “It took you ## years to finally add some length” etc. I just laughed it off.
I genuinely think I may be overacting/being too sensitive/overthinking her jokes. For context, she’s known me for several years where she can give me some tough love about my hair. But then the other part of me feels insecure where maybe she really believes that I’ve “upgraded” my look, and I’m not sure if I should take it as a (backhanded?) compliment.
