LF a fanfic with a particular scene I remember
I remember reading a fanfic where Elizabeth is very close to a family of nobility. they have been gone abroad (possibly in Spain or Portugal?) to visit the (Duke?'s) wife's family. They have several children one of them is the heir and he also really likes Lizzy a lot. the family would be happy with the match but Lizzy thinks of him more like a brother. I remember him sneaking into her sitting room the day she arrives and talking with her before she goes down to meet the family. She does not have any romantic aspirations for him even if his family would be happy to have her as part of their family. I feel like she spent summers with them? I can't remember exactly how she got to be connected to the family but I seem to remember she saved someone from an accident or drowning? maybe I'm mixing this up with another fic. Please help if anything rings a bell or you have any leads!
