Dracy embarrassed Elizabeth

I'm looking for a fic or KU book that has Elizabeth embarrassed by Darcy. I believe D&E were being forced to marry, so there was a luncheon held at Darcy's townhouse and many of his friends were there. Caroline Bingley brings up Darcy's comment "I'd sooner call her mother a wit" in front of everyone - Lizzie doesn't make a scene but Georgiana is furious with Darcy and gives him a set down.

I cannot remember anything else but I'm hoping someone can help me find this book/fic?

Bingley with more backbone?

I'm looking for canon-divergent stories, where Bingley isn't persuaded by Darcy and Caroline to remain in London; with one of these two basic premises:

  1. Focus on Bingley and Jane; how their story develops once he returns (probably alone) to Hertfordshire with some new drama, of course, but nothing to do with Bingley being easily influenced.
  2. Focus on Darcy and Elizabeth; how their story develops now that the Bingleys have married early. Perhaps Elizabeth goes to live with/visit the Bingleys.

I wouldn't mind some drama between Darcy and Bingley.

LF Stories where other Bennet Sisters marry into Nobility.

Just read More Than a Pretty Face by Frances Reynolds. Following Jane's visit to the Bingley sisters, She is heartbroken decides to stay>!with the Gardiners cause their aunt has a bad pregnancy and becomes acquainted with one client, Henry Markham, the Earl of Lyfford. !< As such, Jane Bennet becomes a countess after marrying him. Jane here demonstrates her caring nature with helping Mrs. Gardiner with her health and shows her intelligence that proves the title correct.

Following this, I then read The Odd Duck's Quest in FF.net, a crossover fanfiction with Mary Bennet as the lead. Mary Bennet strives to be better. She doesn't want to live off the charity of her married sisters or the unwelcoming Longbourn. What is her solution? >!Find an occupation and become a companion to a matron. Good thing that Mary has a good employer and just introduces Mary as a friend when they arrive at the society of Mansfield Park.!< In the end, Mary marries >!Tom Bertram!<and becomes a Lady of a Baronet. Mary has built an amazing friendship with Georgiana and Susan in this story and I love her and Tom's love story here.

An amazing quote from there

>!"I understand that you found her quite changed from the sister you remember... For some of us, character and tastes are fixed early in life. Your sister and I have this in common: it took us longer to grow into the person we needed to become. In my case, she was instrumental in my reformation... [Where] Even when she listed all my flaws- when my failures were so obvious to her- she trusted in my capacity to overcome them."!<

Then I started Reading Shemelle's works again. I love Kitty's dynamics with Lord Ashbourne. Their story doesn't start from disdain and that is a plus for me. Kitty's Joie de vivre is infectious and we understand why Lord Ashbourne loves her.

So I started to see a pattern and wanted to make a list where the other Bennet sibling marry into nobilty cause why not!

TLDR: I am looking for stories where the other Bennet Siblings marry into Nobility cause I am sure there is a lot I haven't read yet. The following is the list of the stories I know.

Jane

Mary

  • The Odd Duck's Quest in FF.net - I really love this story since Mary and Tom form a friendship that becomes dear to them both. I love how Mary took the steps to be better than she was before. Tom rising to Mary's challenge and concern is also heartwwarming.
  • Shemmelle's Stories (The Christian Effect, Marriage Is A Mistake Every Man Should Make)
    • Mary marries a rakish Baron, Sir Christian Montgomery. It is a fun one-shot and only a side pairing but I love how she is the very picture of methinks the lady doth protest too much. Mary pointedly doesnt think how attractive he is and also how his attention makes her blush.
  • Leenie Brown's No Other Choice and Persuading Mary has her marrying Darcy's Cousin (An Earl in No Other Choice/ A Viscount Cousin in Persuading Miss Mary). The two stories are the two being argumentative with each other.
  • Thorough-bass and human nature - A one-shot fanfiction. Has Mary stay with the Darcy's in London where she meets an awkward Mr West in a ball when the two wanted to hide in a crowd. Lydia and Wickham are also here and where the two have the dynamics of partners in crime. Mary and Mr West is cute here tho not all is fluff when we discover that >!Mr West is actually Viscount Westmorland who is said to be engaged already. !<
  • Mary Bennet, Duchess of Blackthorne - Ongoing Fanfic where a marriage contract from long ago means Mary is sent off to fulfill this duty and it turns out she is going to be a Duchess. No one knew lmao. It is more slice of life with Mary adapting to her life as a Duchess though the romance seems promising.
  • Her Virtue is Worth More Than Rubies - More of a side pairing and an Ongoing Fic. The main character is a modern woman isekai-ed into Mrs. Bennet. Subsequent changes is Jane having a twin brother, Henry. Mary becomes the love interest of Henry's roommate, George Anderson who is the heir to an earldom. Story so far focused on Mrs Bennet then Henry's love story.

Kitty

  • Shemmelle's Stories (Introducing Puck, Marriage Is A Mistake Every Man Should Make , The End is Where We Start From, A Hit, A Very Palpable Hit, The Brighton Effect )
    • Stories feature Kitty with Kitty / Darcy’s Cousin the Viscount. All stories revolve around her and Lord Ashbourne's love story but each story varies enough. Same characters but different situations and circumstances. I love how Kitty's silliness is presented as a joie de vivre and how she is very charming but she is not without fears as well.
  • Kitty Comes Into Her Own - Before Pride and Prejudice timeline, Kitty decides to improve herself and develops a deeper sisterly bond with Mary. She later ends up marrying the Earl of Stafford. How it happened?>! Kitty spends a time with Mary's mother-in-law where she rescues a young woman and her party that underwent a carriage accident. She becomes acquainted with her family and is invited to london under their sponsor. !<
  • Mrs. Gardiner Takes a Hand by Jeannie Peneaux - One of the many situation altered by Mrs Bennet being at Bath and Mrs. Gardiner being in Longbourn. A mishap in Kitty's letters garners the interest of botanist, John Radclyffe when he saw Kitty's drawings of the plant life of Hertfordshire. It just so happened that he seems to be the earl of Newsham. Upon an invite from Mr. Bennet (who he corresponded with after the mishap), he journeys to Longbourn where he and Kitty have common interest and ends up marrying each other.
  • Timing Her Love Very Ill - Sequel to Too Generous A Soul. Kitty marries Bingley's friend, Sir Jasper Longbottom. Love this story!
  • The Connections of Miss Catherine Bennet: A Pride and Prejudice Sequel - Kitty gains the attention of the Marquess of the Isle of Wight. It is not all butterflies and happy ending when Kitty learns she is pursued due to a wager.
  • Countess Catherine Bennet - Where Kitty marries Colonel Fitzwilliam who is the new Earl. I havent read this yet but I should put it here.
  • Reinaytany's The Quiet Miss Bennet and Sense and Spark are both ongoing fanfics post P&P.
  • On Bleaklow Moor - Ongoing Fic, Kitty stays in Pemberly and meets a duke. I havent't read it yet but i want to include this here.

Mr. Darcy is a duke.

I'm looking for a fanfic where Darcy is a duke and finds Elizabeth injured while he's visiting Bingley in Netherfield.

He meets the Bennet family there and doesn't get a good first impression of them. If I'm not mistaken, Jane tries to flirt with Darcy as soon as she finds out he's a duke. (English is not my first language). I think it was on the FanFiction website, but I don't remember.

Darcy Crashes Elizabeth's Wedding

Can anyone remember the title/author of this story?

Elizabeth is being forced to marry Mr Collins.

Darcy is in London and the Bingley sisters are laughing over the downfall of Eliza.

Darcy sets off for Hertfordshire and catches Lizzy before she goes into the church and she agrees to Marry him instead.

Gardiner and Bingley? Trip Mr Collins allowing E&D to make their escape.

I think Bingley stays behind to do damage control and gets together with Jane.

LF sweet courtship

Hi all!
I’m looking for a variation (I think it’s in KU) where E&D were in a courtship. D was trying to convince E to marry him. They agreed to separate for 30 days or so, but Darcy sent her trinkets everyday with one word. At the end of the 30th day, the words were arranged into a sentence and D came.

can you help me? It’s been on my mind for some time. :’|

Elizabeth and Darcy peeping in a wardrobe

Hoping someone will recognise this scene, as it is the only thing I remember from that book! Elizabeth and Darcy end up in a disused room at Rosings and have to hide in a wardrobe because Charlotte and Anne dB sneak off to the same room to do some nautghy things (!) Elizabeth is shocked but curious and Darcy is lowkey getting turned on, though more from the close proximity to E than the ladies getting it on(but it doesn’t help)

Miss Bingley - Not an evil, incompetent, disaster

One of the flanderizations that have happened in JAFF that are starting to get on my nerves is Miss Bingley. It is stated in the book that she dresses well, has good conversation, good manners, is able to please where she wants, and generally gives a good impression. those who pay attention can see that she thinks she's above Merryton society, but there's no indication that her sense of superiority is present when talking to London society in general. All indications in the book show that Darcy is generally fine with her company, possibly even enjoying her at times.

In JAFF Miss Bingley dresses terribly, is socially inept, has terrible conversation, offends everyone she meets, thinks she superior to all below a Duke. They take the moment when her anger gets the better of her at Pemberly and make that her entire personality. Darcy hates her, and constantly tells Bingley how much he hates his sister.

I'm both complaining about this weird trope in JAFF and asking if there are any stories you know of where Miss Bingley is shown in a positive light? I think Canon accurate Miss Bingley could be a really fun character if she were Elizabeth's friend instead of this contrived plot device.

Looking for a compromise fic.

It was recommended on here last year but I can't remember the title. Elizabeth and Darcy are married because of a compromise. He's horrible to her, as are the servants. Thinking that she only cares about money, Darcy decides that he's not going to give her a penny.

She has enough pin money to buy clothes, but some other wealthy ladies assume she has unlimited spending money and waste it on expensive ones instead of practical clothes. So Lizzie doesn't have warm winter clothes and gets hypothermia because of it. When she's really unwell Darcy realises what he's done.

Edit: solved! Reverie and Rancour. Thank you!

Do you remember a narcissistic Jane story?

Do you remember a Jane with traces of n-personality disorder?

I checked new-ish stories on amazon, noticed this variation, thought "similar to <Dear Sweet Girl> by Tiffany Thomas, must try it" and forgot to add a bookmark. And as usual I can't find it. I know it wasn't Tiffany Thomas because I had read it online before it was removed for publication and didn't check on amazon. It is a great story but as I had read it, there is no need to re-read it.

It was in new-ish books last year after summer holidays or earlier this year. I've tried to find it by asking for P&P variations by publication date and going back. It is too much and after 10 pages all books start to look the same.

It's difficult to tell from a summary but I had an impression that Jane wasn't a full n- but more a person with some mild or milder traces.

Is there anything that could fit the bill? Anything vaguely familiar? I'm not sure it fits the "bad Jane" category in the index and there isn't another option to look for n-Jane. Is there any alternative to check?

Oh, notice - this isn't a book I had in bookmarks and chrome update removed it. This time it's completely on me. And it's NOT progress.

Looking for a Lizzy escape fit ...

This one may be a well-known work, but I'm blanking: at one point Lizzy has to escape some bad guys by hiding in the boot of Darcy's carriage. When she arrives in London, Darcy and the Colonel squirrel her away in a hidden room until she recovers.

LF a P&P fic that begins in London

I’m looking for a story that I think opens with a scene in London where Darcy, the Colonel and the Viscount are exiting a shop or the like and there’s an encounter with Elizabeth. She’s almost knocked down by one of them or something similar. Awkwardness and teasing of Darcy ensues and/or the Viscount is very flirty with Elizabeth.

It sounds like an Amy D’Orazio story but not necessarily. Definitely Kindle.

Looking for a P&P Fic

I have a memory or reading either a fic or published variation a while ago where Lizzy and Darcy were married earlier than in the novel but the she thinks he betrayed her and she’s sent away to live at a Scottish estate or something like that and she hikes out of there but is pregnant and goes and hides for a few years with a widow or something like that.

If any one knows what this may be thanks so much

Bait and Switch books - a story that isn't about Elizabeth and Darcy at all, kinda.

Has anyone else had this experience? I was browsing Amazon last week and came across a book I hadn't seen before, Marrying Darcy for Money. I read the synopsis and thought it sounded like something I'd really enjoy.

The plot:

After the sudden death of her beloved father, Elizabeth Bennet finds her family in a perilous position. With her father’s estate crumbling and no prospects to secure their future, a marriage proposal from the wealthy and enigmatic Mr. Darcy offers her a way out—albeit one that promises no love, no romance, and no hope of ever being truly cherished. Darcy, still scarred by his former fiancée’s betrayal—who abandoned him to elope with another man—offers Elizabeth the chance to save her family in exchange for a union of convenience.

Before buying it, I downloaded the sample to get a feel for the author's writing, but something was wrong. The sample was 5 chapters long, and there was no reference to Elizabeth or Darcy. I thought maybe there was some kind of error.

Since it wasn't available on Kindle Unlimited as part of the monthly fee, I went ahead and paid $5.99 for it, thinking the full book would clear things up. I started reading and...hmm. 🤔 Same issue as the sample.

Then I went back to the beginning of the book and came across this:

https://preview.redd.it/sbrs5npl49ih1.png?width=2462&format=png&auto=webp&s=01f00e7fcfb51ad7306759f5d000554f8670b7c1

I am not going to ascribe motivations to the author that I don't know for certain...but they want you to read this book and as you go along, mentally substitute Lizzy and Darcy whenever you see Leanna and Trevor. 😂 For some weird reason, Charlotte/Charles/Jane and Georgiana were able to keep their names, but not the main characters.

I didn't end up reading it because it felt like a scam. I was able to get a refund from Amazon because I requested it within seven days. I actually tried to request it within 20 minutes, but the book didn't show up in my orders until the next day.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I was in the mood for an angsty forced-marriage/marriage-of-convenience scenario with a backstory like the one in this book. If anyone has any recommendations, I would appreciate them. I've read many forced-marriage variations, but I'm always looking for new ones.

Looking for a ghastly Mrs Bennet who tries to have Elizabeth and Jane taken away and murdered

I'm reposting this from a goodreads fellow reader who is looking for a story - it's familiar but for the life of me I can't find it either - help?

"Liz H I started a story once that I think was on a fan fiction board, probably FFN. When Elizabeth and Jane were little girls, Mrs. Bennet paid a man to take them away and murder them. Instead, he drove them a long ways away, and let them out in the middle of a forest. They were found and assumed to be the grandaughters of a wealthy couple, who took them in and raised them."

Looking for HEA Charlotte/Mr. Collins fics

Hey all, does anyone know of fics where Charlotte and Mr. C genuinely end up falling in love and appreciating the other person's good qualities? I read Introducing Mrs. Collins, and I liked that he at least got a lot more depth of character, but >!obviously, that relationship wasn't the endgame. !<

I LOVED The Other Bennett Sister, but again, >!Mary/Mr. Collins didn't happen, and the idea of an HEA for Charlotte with him was only hinted at. !< I'd also be interested in Mary/Mr. Collins. So are there fics that really deal with either Charlotte or Mary's marriage to him as a love story?
