I'm thinking of ED Delay for law school. Could use some advice.

I'm currently a contracted MS1 and my university starts students on the pre-law track freshman year (we have a couple advisors and a large pre-law population). I'm hoping to do pre-law --> ed-delay, but I'm worried about the possibility of ending up going to law school, but not being selected into the JAG corps. Is this pretty rare, and why would the army give students ed delay, but not give them JAG contract as well (assuming they don't have an egregious law school record)?

Any advice is greatly appreciated. I know this is a bit early to be thinking about but my school takes this seriously.

How does "Elite Overproduction" define elite?

From my understanding a lot of the current debate/talk over the theory of "EO" is focused on universities and the promise of a degree. Isn't this to an extent just one definition of elite? Isn't the promise of a degree in large part tied to the university? Harvard and other top university promise more, while community colleges and smaller public schools promise less? I'm not that familiar with the US education system, so any clarifying comment would help.

In short, elite should be defined as having a advanced degree from a top university in an important field rather than just having a undergraduate degree from a good university. If this definition is used, does the theory still prove effective at understanding societies?
