Is a fan-made GTA 5 port for Wii U theoretically possible today?

>Hey everyone,
Let’s look back at one of the biggest mysteries in Rockstar’s history: the cancelled prototype of GTA 5 for the Nintendo Wii U.
Back in 2012, Reggie Fils-Aime was actively pushing for it, and later, insiders from Unseen64 confirmed that a working early build actually existed. Rockstar allegedly planned to use the GamePad as an in-game smartphone, mini-map, and weapon selector, but cancelled it due to the Wii U's low sales.
Considering the state of modern homebrew development, why hasn't anyone tried to create an unofficial fan-made project or demake? Yes, it would require a massive technical downgrade:I’m not a developer myself, but imagine how cool it would be to see a heavily optimized, retro-looking GTA 5 running on native Wii U hardware.
What do you think? Are there any talented devs or reverse-engineers in the community who think a custom PowerPC project like this is even theoretically possible nowadays?

Reviving the Myth: The Lost GTA V Port for Nintendo Wii U

Hey everyone,

We all know about the major GTA 5 source code leak that happened a while ago. But let’s look back at one of the biggest mysteries in Rockstar’s history: the cancelled, fully lost GTA 5 prototype for the Nintendo Wii U.

Back in 2012, Reggie Fils-Aime was actively pushing for it, and later, insiders like Liam Robertson (Unseen64) confirmed that a working early build actually existed. Rockstar allegedly planned to use the GamePad as an in-game smartphone, mini-map, and weapon selector, but cancelled it due to the Wii U's low sales.

Since the source code is out there, why hasn't anyone in the Homebrew community tried to create an unofficial port? Yes, it would require a massive downgrade:

  • Drastically cutting down vehicle/pedestrian traffic (making it a ghost town).
  • Dropping resolution to 480p/540p.
  • Using an aggressive PS2-style orange/yellow color grading filter to hide low-res textures (just like GTA SA).
  • Simplifying destruction scripts (like in NetherRealm's MK9 port for PS Vita).

I’m not a developer myself, but I feel like this is a legendary piece of lost media that deserves a spiritual rebirth. Imagine a laggy, heavily optimized, retro-looking GTA 5 running on native Wii U hardware.

What do you think? Are there any talented devs or reverse-engineers in the community crazy enough to look into the RAGE engine code and see if a Wii u/PowerPC compile is even theoretically possible?
