Nervous for Bachelorette

This is the first time I’ll have been a bridesmaid. This weekend we have the bachelorette party at a casino in-state, with a spa day and such.

I am very nervous because I have been in a very bad place with my mental health this year (was hospitalized a month ago). I find myself backing out of or leaving most social gatherings early. I organized the bridal shower and I even had to leave that for an hour once everything was underway because I was feeling so awful. The bride and one or two of the other bridesmaids know about this.

It’ll be three days away from our hometown, and while I want to be there 100%, I am worried about my ability to do so.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation, and what were your tactics/coping mechanisms for making it through the weekend? I have Ativan I can use, but it may or may not help and I’d rather avoid it if I can.

A book to escape depression for a little while?

I am going through an extremely severe depressive episode. I like reading, but most of my books are horror genre and the gloomy themes are not helping.

I’d prefer a fiction book, anything that provides a soothing escape from my mind. Ideally not a romance as I also just went through a break up.

Thank you.
