1st flare since Feb

I can’t emphasize how much getting on Otezla has gotten me my life back. It’s like being on Revlimid* again before it stopped working; no ulcers, no stressing about ulcer pain. 7 months without a whisper of a flare.… and what did I find the last day of September.

I’m more frustrated than anything. I’ve just gotten myself a second part time job /pos and I’m going on a trip to see family. Why’d this have to happen now of all times. With the Simlandi and the Otezla, I’ve not had to think about how painful it is to sit somewhere, if my next period is gonna bring an ulcer with it, like-

I hate how powerful stress and anxiety is to our bodies (both in the sense that it burdens us while managing symptoms and flares, but also the fact that even with medication Behcets can still slip through the cracks.

*I don’t recommend Revlimid, there’s so many hoops to jump over to be on it, as well as it being a high risk med in the first place. This is just what my ped rheum originally prescribed after Colchicine didn’t work

Long Awaited…

My local FB find from earlier this year! We’ve been through it together, but now she’s blooming and I need your help! Since I have no background on her I have no clue what the (strep) variety is!! Any ideas?

A little update…

So, from my previous post, I had repotted my first ever strep. That soil was bad, compacted, and so wet. Immediately after that, my plant drooped. It was awful, I was trying to convince myself it was just shock.

In the meantime, from the mail I received two babies: GG 1026 and GG 1335. They both are currently thriving and sprouting more flower stems.

I finally realized I needed to do something. Pulling my OG out of the first repot- no roots. I felt awful. So I cut off all of the worst offenders for droopy leaves and repotted it into the smallest container I had (I know a Dixie cup won’t last long) and hoped for the best. At 2 weeks, and only one more leaf cut, she’s doing so good. Her biggest leaf is so strong now and no longer wilted. Hopefully from here it’ll establish new roots so I can later repot into something sturdier than paper.

New baby

‘Gorgeous’ from Optimara.

I’ve been getting back into indoor plants, specifically Streptocarpus among a few others. But I couldn’t resist this beauty from the big box store. Also I haven’t had AVs in so long, so I’m looking forward to relearning and exploring as things come along. 💚
