2020 Buick Encore GX, 37k mi, Backup Camera Issue Stumped Techs
Good morning!
2020 Buick Encore GX with 37k miles. Weird issue with backup camera…
Got the black screen with red slashed camera icon consistent with TSB 19-NA-076 after long idle (waiting in parking lots) several times.
Took to dealership, who confirmed codes per TSB. VCU wouldn’t take update per TSB, replaced. New VCU wouldn’t take programming due to dealership IT issue with all of their service laptops, which was fixed.
Post laptop fix, still wouldn’t take update, found blown amp, replaced.
Programming attempts drained battery, also replaced.
Now amp, VCU still won’t take updates, car essentially bricked, Buick and GM IT support ran their checklists (isolate power to systems to direct updates, unplug/plug, etc.)
Now a Buick rep has been sent (will be here Tuesday). Everyone is stumped.
Any ideas here? Two GM master techs, SA, SM, and consumer stumped.
