Paphiopedilum spicerianum

Was supposed to be Paph fairrieanum but it's clearly mislabeled. Still, an iconic species.

Grown in precision orchiata, peat, coco coir, pumice, and a bit of charcoal, and kept damp at all times.

Caulocattleya Chantilly Lace "Twinkle"

Smells very powerfully in the early morning, I can smell it from a couple feet away at 7 am. Typical cattleya care. 5 flowers on this one; from gold coast orchids, and I got it just a few months ago, it was just starting this new growth when I got it.

PCV. Golden Peacock

I've had this one for just over 2 years. It didn't bloom for the first year but the second year I increased the light it was under from 2 t5s to 4, and now it blooms about every three months. This is 4 spikes with a total of 20 flowers.

RBL. Copper Queen; purchased in December 2025 from Orchid Botanix. Officially my favourite cattleya hybrid. It was in bloom when I bought it, and I repotted it when the blooms faded, then it started and grew a whole new pseudobulb and blooms in like 5 months. I'm going to need to up-pot it again after these blooms fade, it's grown so many roots already.

Psychopsis mariposa, purchased from Orchids in your Tropics at the 2025 MOS show and sale. The spike is 110 cm long. I've been told I should stake it, but it's holding itself up well, and growing pretty much how I would stake it, so I'm not sure if it's worth the bother. The plant is growing well, three new pseudobulbs grown in the year I've had it, and two more starting in new branchings of growth. I love that it has interesting patterned leaves too. The leathery texture of them is weird, makes it feel like it's underwatered, but it's normal. It's been a rewarding plant.

And yea, I know not to cut the spike when the flower fades 😂
