Welcome to Lineman Insider: My Journey into the Trade + California/Nevada Apprenticeship Guide (2026)

Hey all. I started a new substack to help newcomers to the trade. So if you are dead set on being a lineman or just passively interested take a look at my content.

I’m just starting out so be patient. but over time I will be offering a 50 state breakdown by region, JATC, and major utilities as options. Content will include requirements and basic information for each region JATC and major utility as they vary across the US. Groundman route guidance, line school etc. Tips for showing up prepared to give a good interview and what expectations will be on the job as either an apprentice or groundman. I’ll provide a list of tools that will be needed and where to find them.

In the end it will be a one stop shop for all the information prospective groundmen and apprentices will need to make it easier for JATCs and utilities to find quality candidates. Please subscribe and thanks for the support.
