My advice for anyone desperately trying to get Gourdy: Get good at using an extractor toon, and carry a matchmaking team long enough to at least get to floor 15. The thing that drags the floors so long is people just simply not extracting for some reason T_T So, get an extractor toon like Yatta, Glisten, or Teagan for more survivability and Extract as many machines as you can. Keep reloading into Matchmaking matches until you get a round where someone distracts as well because this strategy kind of fails without one lol (your fellow teammates will possibly just grief or twiddle their thumbs not doing machines etc)

The faster you extract the faster you can get to floor 20, which means you can gaurantee your Gourdy research! If you have a friend who already has Gourdy, make them the distractor with some trinkets since that will basically mean you just have to round the twisteds up and then do each machine super simple. And Gourdy has such low stealth that if you're someone like Rodger or Teagan, you won't get hit at all and can even do machines with them right there at the broken ele.

Solo runs are also the easiest way to reach floor 20, and I recommend just using Teagan as she can heal herself (buy the Frugal card so you can occassionally buy something from Dandy without it dipping too much into your tapes)

The Trinkets I used the most are Veemote and Vanity Mirror. Vanity Mirror is really good bc a lot of extractors are super slow runners, so when its time to get to the ele you can just run right to it lol. Another issue, you need to just get to the ele. Don't dawdle, or wait for a teammate who won't step inside, just get into it and let your distractor know when almost everyone is inside.

The teams I found the most success with was something like Vee (so you all know where the twisteds are), Gourdy or Eclipse Distractor, whatever fast extractor toons you want like Shelly, and then a Sprout to heal or a Soulvester to guard people.

Another piece of advice: Don't open the trick or treat doors. The possibility of Dyle adding an additional machine is too great and I have found out you can actually get that Dyle door more than once T_T So just don't open the trick or treat doors it's too much of a liability fr, just extract, get to the ele, repeat until floor 20!

Can someone spoil "Big Feelings" that immersive play in new york for me?

Everywhere else on the internet people are being annoyingly vague about the actual plot of the play and not really telling you what happens outside of "You are in a classroom and this lady teaches you stuff" lol. And I tried looking up the ending but the Mod for the theatre and broadway subreddit (who I presume to be the same annoying person...) deleted both comments explaining what the ending was.

And I'd try to find a video about it but all of the tiktoks I've seen are just people being incredibly snooty about the play and not actually wanting to talk about it, what it was like, what you did in the play etc. It's just really annoying T_T And I am curious but I obviously don't have money for the play like I can't fly to fucking new york to see it or whatever.

So if you've seen the play please just tell me what the play is about and the ending.

Brusha's Rework is awesome!

https://preview.redd.it/5kfpa2grgejh1.png?width=1452&format=png&auto=webp&s=b4e4f0fd653aba8871c40827b82085b415e56568

Her rework actually fixes a lot of issues with the character. For one, her skill has like a bonus utility to it where now you can basically mark where machines are as long as you have her. She can mark the closest machine at ele now, or machines in difficult places that she can't reach (like a machine in RnD or one in an awkward open area).

And her skill CD is so low that she can basically go from person to person pretty easily without having to rest for a long time. Meaning she can help many lowskillcheck toons out at the same time without having to awkwardly stand in one spot just to help them out or make sure they're in a circle lol.

And her trinket fixed what was her weak spot, which was her speed. Whenever you'd help someone out as Brusha, if a Twisted came by you'd basically be cooked because you're so slow and you just can't run as fast. Now her trinket gives her an extra bit of speed so she can run away lol. She's still slow without the buff, but she's not like a snail anymore which is good. All in all, its a good rework. This is probably my favorite rework after Finn's just because of how it fixes a lot of problems I had while playing the character. Also she's a LOT more fun to play as now, and is kind of like a full on support character. Someone who can help the whole team and not just one person at a time.

Will Tisha's TOTW skin be like the fanart? (Art by me)

You know how in fanart people draw Tisha with a litte bang covering one eye? I wonder if the TOTW skin will be similar lol.

Day 6 of this, and I am finally eating something other than soup!

My family is worried about me getting dry socket but I have been steadily rinsing my mouth after every meal, carefully brushing my teeth and not going too far to the back of my mouth like the dentist suggested, and I have not used a straw or spit or even sneezed (lol my allergy meds are strong) since the surgery.

I am still cautious of eating crunchy foods but I've moved up to pasta, and soft meat like beef. I ate a slider hamburger today and I noticed my back mouth hurts but only when I stretch my mouth open?

So I think it is just my face and jaw being really sore and so the holes where the wisdom teeth were are still sensitive. I've been drinking room temp/warm water or holding a hot compress to my face to sort of alleviate the pain after I eat food. The swelling is gone but it only happened inward for some reason? So now I no longer have a cold compress. All in all, I think I will be totally clear of dry socket soon!

A roadmap would not stop complaints

The goalposts always seem to shift when it comes to the various demands from people in this subreddit. At first it was "Qwel doesn't communicate enough" and she began to make devlog videos every month, then it became "She doesn't tell us enough about what is coming in each update" and now we literally have Veemail patchnotes in game telling us every single thing changed in the updates (which includes Bug fixes which was something I saw lots of people wanting).

If you are still under the incorrect assumption that there's been 0 communication, you are just plugging your ears at this point. What else would people want communicated? You have the patchnotes telling you now what bugs were fixed in depth, there's monthly Dev logs detailing everything happening for THAT month and maybe even the next month. We are getting Toon reworks, they are literally changing and adding new machine types to fix the "boring gameloop" or whatever.

It just seems like people who complain the loudest in this subreddit do not actually pay attention to the things in game, and when you point out how all their prayers have been answered literally a month ago, the goal moves. It becomes less about wanting more information and more complaints about how the updates didn't happen when THEY thought it would happen, or how the updates were lame to begin with because it didn't add something THEY wanted added. I've seen people complain that the new swimmy barnaby machine is actually bad because while it is variety for the machines Qwel should've done something different anyway. They couldn't elaborate on what they meant by "something else".

And it's just exhausting because it isn't even really just this subreddit, the entire fanbase's communities are like this. On tiktok it is just an endless onslaught of people giving backhanded compliments like "Wow FINALLY Qwel managed to STOP BEING LAZY and make a GOOD update for once", on Youtube there's video essay after video essay about how the game is still bad and boring, and this Subreddit only ever upvotes the most negative posts.

Everything the community asked for is literally happening, but there is still this swathe of negativity that people keep encouraging for some reason. And honestly, if I were Qwel and I couldn't even go into the subreddit for the game *I* made without seeing lame post after post about how terrible of a dev I was, I'd just cancel this whole game ages ago ong.

TL;DR the community already got everything they literally begged for, but everyone ignores the effort and just likes to encourage negativity and bullying for the sake of it. Adding a roadmap would not stop complaints bc the goalpost always moves.

Startime Sprout! [Veemail Commission]

I was commissioned to draw Startime Sprout by someone and they gave me a gamepass as compensation! This was really fun, and I now have the Showtime pass lol.

On another note, I just wanted to say this is literally me using the Veemail system in a way a lot of communities who play other Roblox games use their mail and gift system. I wouldn't be able to do this so easily without Veemail, and the Veemail system made the entire process super easy for both me and the person who got the art. Other people can now do the same, and I saw plenty of artists in the BlushCrunch server advertising their art in exchange for Ichor or a gamepass.

Veemail will be good bc we can see Patchnotes and updates easier now

And people are always hounding on Qwel for "not being informative enough" but this is really good update because it comes with patchnotes about what was fixed and it goes into DETAIL which I really like. I didn't know they'd rework the skins for Flutter and Scraps but the skins look really good now.

Hopefully people will check veemail if they want to know things about what changed lol. I know its not a huge update, so I expect a lot of people to say it was a "nothingburger update" but still. It is a step in a good direction.

u/LiseranThistle — 5 months ago

The new update exposed an issue in the community...

(note: I am not saying every single person who dislikes the update is like this btw this is just something I have noticed I am not talking about EVERYONE who has SOME grievances...)

It's that a lot of yall...are way too selfish, and you don't like being *selfless*. And really, I think that's just why this update seems to ruffle some folks feathers lol (besides the people who just really wanted a bigger update I think their complaints are valid it's fine to expect more from your favorite game.)

It's a heavy Teamwork based update where you must work alongside not just one but multiple people, and potentially your whole lobby and some of yall are just terrible at working alongside other people (or you are just flat out MEAN to others lol)

Like, the whole update focuses heavily on helping someone else out without really expecting to get something in return, or letting another person who is slower than you onto a machine so you can advance faster through the floor. Some of yall won't even let Boxtens onto machines because you think they will just fail instantly and instead of being welcoming to someone who is new and doesn't know a lot, you bully and push them out.

Now this isn't pointed at everyone who dislikes this update, but I have definitely noticed this pattern of people complaining about the Duo machine update because it requires you to help another person out, or because working alongside 7 other people is just "too difficult". Communication and being NICE is how you can get all these new achievements. I got almost all of them (aside from character specific ones like Goobs or Astro's bc i don't own them yet) on day 1.

The harsh truth is that this teamwork and letting other people extract and using your characters skill to help them on THEIR machine even when it doesn't directly benefit you outside of moving to the next floor quicker was how the game was always meant to be played, and we shouldn't have actually needed Duo machines for slower extraction toons or just slow movement toons to have a shot to extract before floor 10. But this community is filled with so many rude and entitled people that will indeed "hog" machines all the time without thinking about other people in the run.

u/LiseranThistle — 5 months ago

The most difficult Achievement will certainly be this one...

Especially since this community is already stingy with Machines, having to convince 7 others to let you touch one at least once seems like quite the task T_T
