ENBY "Passing"

Hi all!

Tldr: am I visually enby enough? Should I catch people more and remind them of my preferred pronouns in professional spaces?

First time poster on the sub, and wondering what others experiences are: when being misgendered as an enby using they/them but others continue to refer to you using binary pronouns such as he/him or she/her. How do you approach this in professional relationships, when you've introduced yourself as they/them?

I have been an out enby person for the past 5 years and introduce myself using they/them but people continue to use male pronouns. (Within my Masters program classroom setting)

I understand that visually, people would assume I use he/him because of the facial hair, but I'm wondering how others who present on a non-androgynous part of the enby spectrum deal with mis use of expected pronouns in professional settings?

(Love to all androgynous enby peoples!)

When I am misgendered in these spaces I let it slide, however it is a tiny slap in the face every time because I introduced myself as they/them. However, I feel I should be more vocal and upfront in the moment.

Thanks! <3
