Sligo 100/200

Is anyone doing the Sligo 100/200 organized by Audax this Saturday? Doesn't seem to be very well advertised and I don't know anyone else doing it. It starts in Tubbercurry and I'm beginning to wonder will it just be me and a few others...

What's the best way to get to the racecourse in Galway?

Going to the Galway races this weekend. I'm driving and my accommodation is about half way between the city and the racecourse. Anyway, what's the best way for me to get to the races then? I assume driving and parking would be a bad idea. So a taxi? Or get to Eyre Square and take a shuttle bus?

Parking at the circus?

If you go to the circus near the retail park, where's the best place to park? Retail park? Or is there parking on site?

Thoughts on GLP-1?

I'm a very heavy guy, early 40s and three small kids. And I'm worried about my long-term health due primarily to my weight. I've had a number of successes over the years - managing to shift more than 15kgs during COVID was my best effort. But it's all back now plus change and I can really feel it slowing me down and beginning to effect my everyday life, especially with the kids. Anyway, I'm going to my GP next week for a general check up and I'm going to ask about GLP-1 as a solution.

Have any of you guys gone onto it? How's it going? Tell me the good and the bad please. One thing I have been wondering about is it seems to be a wonder drug (albeit very expensive) but how do you come off it again, or do you?

Do you remember when the army used to escort the cash-in-transit vans?

The younger generation may not know about this, but up into the early 2000s (maybe later) it would be a common sight to see half a dozen armed soldiers standing outside banks in many Irish towns when cash was being moved between banks, due presumably to the threat from paramilitaries and other criminal gangs. I assume the practise stopped because of the peace agreement, and maybe the digital world of banking we now live in also has something to do with it. But if anyone knows anything more about this, it'd be interesting to read.
