2013 Kia Soul Weird Power Lock Issue
Trying to diagnose a weird power lock issue on my 2013 Kia Soul.
I just got a properly programmed key/fob, so I’ve ruled out the old key being the problem.
Here’s whats happening:
- Pressing lock works and locks the doors.
- Pressing unlock once unlocks the driver door normally.
- Pressing unlock a second time does NOT unlock the passenger or rear doors.
- Using both interior unlock switches has basically the same issue. The driver door responds, but the other three won’t unlock.
- I can hear clicking when trying to unlock them.
- Very occasionally, all of the doors WILL unlock normally. I’ve noticed this tends to happen shortly after parking/shutting off the car, but it’s rare and I haven’t figured out a consistent way to reproduce it.
Since all three other doors are affected together and they can still electrically lock, it seems weird that all three actuators would have failed in the same way.
Has anyone run into this on a 2012–2013 Soul? And if so, what did you do to fix it?
