It's my fourth week using retinyl palmitate in squalene for the first time
I'm 30, dry+acne prone t-zone, decided to start with something relatively weak otc before committing to retinol or prescription tret
First 3 weeks nothing special was going on, but two days ago I woke up with whatever it is on my cheeks
Red spots look dry, burn after the moisturizer, not itch on their own
I'm kinda surprised that 1% of a really weak retinoid can cause any "purge", so I'm starting to worry that's a reaction or something else not related
But also it might be just dryness because I forgot to "sandwich" it -_-
Last two days I was cleansing with warm water + nothing but moisturizer, the redness and dryness is better
Routine:
AM: cleanser, Vit C Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, sunscreen
PM: cleanser, salicylic acid 2% as spot treatment on days with no retinoid, moisturizer + freshly added retinyl
Please assure me that it's all good and just part of the process, cause many ppl give up on retinoids too early
