SOTD + New Razor: Daily DOC, FlyDear, Balea, Proraso Blue, Nivea Deep

Razor: Razorock Daily DOC Standard
Blade: FlyDear Super Platinum (1st use)
Brush: Balea Professional
Cream: Proraso Blue
Aftershave: Nivea Deep

Fantastic first shave with my new razor, close and comfortable shave.
I've been using a Winning by Yates Precision and a Fatip Piccolo for a while, and I wondered why nobody had made an open comb fixed angle like a mix of the two, so when Razorock released the Daily DOC it piqued my interest. Effecient and glides smoothly, feels very safe, clamps the blade solidly. Works well to trim the edges of my mutton chops, and could handle quite a lot of growth with ease. Took a moment to get used to the shave angle but worked it out quickly.

Quick shave, pleasant and acceptable, tried skipping my first WTG pass and went straight to a ATG/XTG (south to north) pass which surprisingly handled a full weeks growth just fine.

Razor: English Gillette Ball End Tech
Blade: FlyDear Super Platinum (1st use)
Brush: DSCosmetic T4
Soap: De Vergulde Hand
Aftershave: Bardol

Very nice travel shave, De Vergulde Hand is a nice compact puck so works well for travelling, and produces great lather.
Second photo is just from a pleasant country bush walk just before my shave, pretty enough I thought I’d share.

SOTD + New Brush: Tech, FlyDear, Omega, Proraso Blue, Adidas Ice Dive

Razor: English Gillette Ball End Tech
Blade: FlyDear Super Platinum (2nd use)
Brush: Omega 10777
Cream: Proraso Blue
Alum: Thai
Aftershave: Adidas Ice Dive

I've been keeping an eye out for a blue handle shaving brush (because of course I need one), so when I saw this brush at a local chemists today I picked it up (it's rare to find shaving gear like this in brick and mortar stores here). Pleasantly soft on it's first shave, I like the knot which is the same size as the 10075 I already own, but I prefer the handle on the 10777 which is a bit too curvy for me even if it's a little sturdier. Added a rubber band for extra grip like on my S10019, nice and secure. Very nice shave.

SOTD: Swan, Dragonfly Flower, Zenith, Proraso Red, Tabac

Razor: Swan
Blade: Dragonfly Flower
Brush: Zenith Conical Coral
Soap: Proraso Red
Aftershave: Tabac

Very nice late night open razor shave, first in two months since I nicked my pinky, so I thought I'd dip my toe back in. Not super close but comfortable and even presentable results, no blood, nicks, scratches, irritation, missed patches or wonky mutton chops, so I'll call that a win. The blade is definitely not super sharp (carbon steel after all) but it cuts hair while not biting skin, and dealt with five days growth without issue.

SOTD: Ming Shi, Treet, Gillette, Shave, Imperial Leather

Razor: Ming Shi 5000S (settings 3, 1)
Blade: Treet Carbon Steel
Brush: Indian Gillette Nylon
Cream: Shave (Sanofi)
Alum: Thai
Aftershave: Cussons Imperial Leather

Flying close to the frugal sun today, but I think I managed to land without melting my wings. Razor $10 AUD, blade 20c, brush $4 from the local Indian grocery store, alum $1.50 for 227 grams at the local Asian grocery store, cream $2.50 and aftershave $7-10 both from the local supermarket (and both about a decade old). Razor is really quite good for the price, brush is surprisingly usable if a bit prickly and floppy, blade is mild and smooth, but the cream is barely passable and lathers oddly (use heaps of cream and very little water), and the scents of both cream and aftershave are nuclear and polarising (although nostalgic).

Very nice shave, I'm enjoying how slick the Wars is, the Adidas paired well with its sweet clean woody citrus notes.

The Lomani pairs well with the scent of De Vergulde Hand, the lavender dihydromyrcenol camphor, Drakkar Noir would pair well too. Damn fine shave.
