Dozens of tote bags, none are the right size

I have amassed quite the collection of tote bags. Canvas, recycled plastic, durable, can be scrunched up super compact. None of them are the right size or shape for bringing 1 beach towel, a lunch bag, reusable water bottle and some sunscreens. They are either too tall, bottom is not flat, too big, too stretchy, too rigid, too small, have net like so stuff falls through, or too plastic-y. Some were purchased, some were free, some were deeply discounted, some were souvenirs, many are swag from random companies. I don't want to buy another tote bag because I literally have 25 to choose from, but I may have to bite the bullet.

Getting my home renovated is a PITA

I'm replacing 2 bathrooms and upgrading my kitchen. There is dust everywhere, my family and I have to shower in the tiny not well ventilated bathroom in the basement. No one has the toiletries we are used to.

I work part time 3x a week for half days. When I'm not at home I can only see who is going in and out via ring camera. When I am here I am sitting around listening to people work, but it's vital I am around because I can catch the small fuck ups that are happening. I just caught a worker building out around an old vent pipe, which would leave no room for the toilet going into the spot, which would have had huge ripple effects down the line.

I wish I didn't start this project. I feel like I should have kept the 1980s era leaking shit that was there. We should have slapped more bandaids onto issues instead of getting to the root of the problems.

I was at my last place of employment for five years. Half of the time I was there through a staffing agency, which is the company that paid me and filed me on their taxes. The place I was assigned to eventually hired me outright after a couple of years. They paid the headhunter fee and officially hired me as a direct employee. Pretty standard stuff, I'd think.

I have since left and now have finally landed a new job. This new place runs an extensive background check and the dates of my employment at my last place do not match my résume. I was not officially employed on their books for the entire duration, just for the time I was a direct hire, even though I had worked there on site the entire time. So now because of this discrepancy in employment period I can't start my new job.

I forwarded the staffing agency's info to the third-party background check company. I've given the background check company contact info, an email address specifically for employment verifications, an explanation and tried following up with anyone I've been speaking with regarding this new hiring process. The only response I get is a black hole of "we are still investigating." This has been going on for 3 weeks. My initial job offer was 25 days ago.

Oh yeah, and I actually did have to pass a blood test to get this new job. (Good news, I don't have tuberculosis!) Now the thing holding me up is not something crazy like a prior criminal record, but rather that my former employment was only partially a direct hire.
