Grants Design Fly, 9 x 12 inches, watercolor on paper

Grants Design Fly, 9 x 12 inches, watercolor on paper

It's been a year since I painted any flies. I love the ideas I get from you all, so I am back to get more. I need at least 5 fly suggestions for me to paint. This was the last fly I painted more than a year ago.

Yesterday was a flash back to the Dirty Thirties

Kief, ND. There was several times where visibility was down to just a quarter mile. The worst dust storm I have seen in my 11 years of living in North Dakota.

"Mumther can't see me here!!!"

This is what Little One does when I tell him to hide. The dork, haha! Love him to pieces.

Blooming Through The Storms, oil on canvas, 2026

The storm moved with calculated fierceness across the prairie. Winds tugged at every loose bit, testing what it could fling and what would hold strong. Standing alone against this force offers little support. No one to help hold you up or block the winds. Clustered together, we are stronger. We are fearless. We can bloom through any storm.

Sunrises are my second favorite thing about North Dakota

As a landscape artist coming from Michigan, I have been completely captivated by North Dakota. No other place have I found such dramatic skies paired with endless landscapes. Sunsets are my #1 favorite thing. North Dakota is the first place that I have ever felt like I belonged, the first place that has felt like home. I have found my forever here. What is your favorite thing about North Dakota?

Waking of the Dawn, oil on canvas, 2026 [OC]

Through this unimaginable darkness, the softest voice, the thinnest ray of light. Little by little it calls you from the despair. The light grows brighter. Darkness fades to brilliant colors. That voice is still there, louder and clearer, “You are not alone”.

Entry table my uncle is teaching me to build.

My uncle has been experimenting with epoxy tables for a couple of years now. He specializes in very intricate cuts. I live with and work for him as he is older. He has been teaching me woodworking and I am soo grateful for the opportunity! He bends all the wood himself by soaking it in his pond and then clamping it to the shape he wants cut out of plywood.

Sorry if this is not allowed, I am just really proud of my uncle and what I am learning from him. I have been helping in the creation of this table.
