Basement inswing door: are these track holes for water drainage or something else?
Hey everyone, dealing with earwigs getting into a tenant's ground-level basement apartment through this door threshold, and maybe even through the exterior brick veneer weep holes, which might let them sneak into the internal wall structure.
But regarding the main topic of this threshold sill: it’s an inswing door, and I already siliconed the bottom exterior seam where the silver aluminum ramp meets the concrete slab to lock down the ground gaps. My next step is changing the bottom door sweep. I already applied some insecticide; it did help indeed.
Are these slots in the black track meant for water drainage, or are they just installation/screw channels? I want to know if it's safe to stuff copper mesh into them with a flathead screwdriver to block the bugs from camping there, or if putting that exterior silicone line down was a bad idea because of drainage.
Thanks!
