Tips on sound therapy?

I want to let my ears get used to harder sounds, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I try to avoid complete silence now, I put on some rain sound and I think I'm going to gradually try to raise the volume.

Anyone had success with sound therapy?

Anyone tuck their chin when they sleep?

I go to sleep in a more or less neutral position on my side, but I always wake up all curled up. I feel like this makes me clench even more. Not sure what to do about it. It's so frustrating.

Sleep bruxism - what works for you

I had a round of botox over two months ago. For about a month, it seemed as if I had stopped clenching in my sleep, I hardly ever woke up anymore with my teeth together. As we speak, I feel like it's losing effect. I wake up clenching again, though the clenching force still seems pretty limited.

I feel powerless. I wake up, tell myself to relax my jaw, start falling asleep again and immediately I feel the clenching increase.

I tried mouth guard and it made things worse. I've had PT for over a year. It helps a bit with the pain but doesn't stop me from clenching. I don't know what else to try. I'm considering a biofeedback device, but it is very pricy. Is there anything else?

I need to stop my sleep bruxism

I've tried physical therapy, botox, self-massage. It helps a bit but doesn't eliminate it. Is there anything else I could try? I can't take muscle relaxants.

Training back without using fingers?

I thought this might be an appropriate sub to ask this question. I need to train my back because of posture issues, but I have very painful fingers due to a condition. I've tried rows with bands and weights but they cause a flare up every time. So things that involve grip strength are out of the question. I've been doing (unweighted) prone T raises, scapular squeezes, but that only gets me so far.

Are there any exercises out there where I wouldn't need my fingers? Using hands for support is possible as long as I don't need to grip things.

Pain constantly changes location

One day it's in my ear, then it's my cheekbone, then it's my masseter area, then it's in front of my ear. What does this mean? Is it joint or muscle related? I don't know what to make of it.

How long until you felt full relief from botox?

Week 7 since my injections now. I was a bit disappointed at first. After a week I noticed I couldn't clench very hard anymore. But other than that, not a whole lot seemed to change. It didn't change the clicking. I woke up with headaches a couple of times. Not entirely sure if that was due to clenching though, I have neck issues as well.

I still felt a few really hard muscle knots on my temporalis, so it seemed as if the muscle hadn't really relaxed. Those knots seem to be gone now though. Not sure when they disappeared, maybe week 5 or 6?

I still get ear pain though. And for a while I had a lot of pain underneath my cheekbone, though that seems to be gone for two weeks now.

Not sure how to proceed from here. Was this normal? Is the pain compensation from other muscles?

Thoracic extensions

How long and how often do you do these? I find conflicting recommendations for this. Currently doing it every morning for 1 to 2 minutes, I'm just wondering if that's enough.

Practicing with non-native speakers

I regularly chat online with foreigners to improve my English. I always seek out native speakers, but sometimes non-native speakers want to practice English with me. I've always hesitated when confronted with this situation. On the one hand, any conversation allows me to get better because I have to think about the message I want to convey and the correct way to phrase it. On the other hand, I fear that chatting with non native speakers could expose me to incorrect usage and might reinforce bad habits.

What are your thoughts on this?

Clicking when swallowing or talking - not the TMJ?

Over a year ago, I started getting clicks on the left side when talking. Very inconsistent, some days I'd get it sometimes not. Over time I started getting it on the right side, then both sides started clicking when swallowing. I get it frequently but cannot reproduce it consistently. I could swallow five times now and not get it, and then I might do the same thing in an hour and it would click every time. It's definitely not a eustachian issue.

I have bilateral disc displacement, but I never get any clicking when chewing or opening my mouth. Hence, my question if these are related. I have a muscle tension disorder and I've developed popping joints all over my body, so I've been wondering if this really has something to do with the joint itself. I've read that clicking and popping can exist without disc issues, so I'm guessing other things might be responsible for clicking?

This seems to be rare so I'm curious whether there are a lot of people dealing with this.

Do you ever have days where things seem almost normal?

For the past few months I've had to rest in bed a lot during the day. My body feels incredibly heavy. I can manage going for short walks and doing a tiny bit of exercise but that's about it. But yesterday I didn't feel much fatigue at all. I listened to music, which I hardly ever do anymore, I even felt like dancing. Moving around the house felt pretty easy. Today it's back to crushing fatigue again.

Does this happen to any of you?

Popping/clicking/crackling in morning

Sometimes I get this for hours, other days I don't. It's like something goes wrong in my sleep. Nasal sprays don't help, neither does swallowing/yawning/valsalva. I don't really seem to have fullness / clogged ears. Maybe some mild feeling of pressure.

Any tips?

Botox question

It's been two weeks now since I had my masseter and temporalis injections. I can barely clench anymore, even when I try it's just like I can put my teeth together but that's about it.

So it seems effective, but my mouth opening hasn't changed. I still have some aches and pains at various places. Maybe slightly less, not sure. Is this normal? When does the mouth opening improve?

Hello everyone, I'm a chronically ill/fatigued person with a number of hip issues, probably due to lots of sitting/lying down. I've become so weak glute bridge holds are extremely difficult. It triggers low back pain and when I try to contract my glutes harder I start shaking violently. I tried bird dogs (legs only) but my shoulders fatigue very quickly and my core starts burning.

Any ideas? Possible regressions? Not sure how to build up if I'm this weak, but I really need to strengthen those glutes.

When I wake up my left ear starts popping. Initially I didn't have it for weeks sometimes but it always came back. It became a daily occurrence and while it initially resolved after getting up, it now lasts for hours. When bending over it's like I hear a sound of wind blowing in sails. Sometimes also when I'm talking or when I push on my ear.

Ears have been checked several times, sometimes a bit of fluid but sometimes not. Ear pressure was normal at time of examination (I didn't have popping at that moment). I feel as if it got worse when tapering my zoloft but could be coincidence.

Sound familiar to anyone? I don't know if there's still any hope.

I've managed to keep my daily steps around 5000 for a year. It started dropping a few months ago and I started getting all kknds of aches of pains presumbly due to inactivity.

So I'm trying to increase my activity with a physical therapist. I'm scared because of all the negativity surrounding GET, but I want to reduce my pain.

Is there any sort of amount of exercise that is acceptable?

Got botox 9 days ago in masseter and temporalis. It's definitely kicking in, can't clench very hard anymore. But I get this terrible tired feeling in my neck like it can't support my head. Is this possible? I have neck issues so it could be something else but this tired feeling is new
