she’s still calm and amazing at 13 weeks… when will she become crazy?
hi all!! my aussie Powder is about 13 weeks now, I’ve had her since 8 weeks. she’s always been incredibly chill and not reactive at all to anything. i’ve had her in the front yard a lot, and she doesn’t bark at the mailman or dogs walking by or anything. she loves people but isn’t overly excitable, she’ll wait for anyone who isn’t me to approach her first. she’s crushing her behavioral class at the training/boarding facility i work at (all vaccinated adult dogs!) and is just so so smart. she plays respectfully during yard time, always backing off when given a correction from an older dog. she’s a few accidents in the house here and there, but every puppy does that. i’m really waiting for the other shoe to drop here! all of the aussies i’ve trained at work have been off the wall!
also she’s been checked out by the vet and she’s totally healthy, just a calm girl according to the doctor.

we’re working on her neutrality lately since this part of her life is so so important for socialization and knowing when to chill. she’s been fantastic working in the field with me all day, and she’s been great when it’s time to settle!

Please. Enough with the poorly managed raw diets.
I wanna start by saying there IS a way to feed a raw diet to your dog while still meeting their nutritional needs. A whole lot of owners aren’t doing that right now though and it’s becoming a problem when a lot of dogs are in the same space.
I’m a dog trainer at a daycare/boaring facility. I promise you, your dog isn’t shitting liquid every day because they’re “detoxing” from kibble, you’re feeding them things that upset their stomach. Dogs aren’t wolves anymore and they need adequate fiber for their stool to be more… put together. It’s genuinely becoming a problem where we have to hose off the grass instead of picking up poop so so many times a day. If you’re going to feed raw, please ensure that your dogs diet is balanced by a vet, pathogen-controlled, portioned correctly, and monitored over time for issues. I’m begging here.

My 10 week old girl Powder🩵
I brought miss Powder home about a week ago for the purpose of making her my work companion as a dog trainer/groomer. So far she’s been doing amazing! She has the perfect energy to get through my 12 hour days with me, a lower energy dog would definitely crash sooner than she does lol. I’ve definitely made a new best friend in her.
