How do you actually get affiliate commissions without relying on friends and family?

I’m a UGC creator, so I’m comfortable making content, but I feel like I’m missing the marketing side of affiliate marketing.

I post interactive stories daily with my affiliate link and code, and I do get clicks, but almost nobody ends up buying.

So I’m clearly doing something wrong in terms of converting people.

What changed things for you? Was it the type of content, CTAs, SEO, funnels, posting frequency, product selection, or something else?

I’d really appreciate practical or technical tips from people who are actually making affiliate income. Thanks!

new here, been creating for a few months and feeling a little lost ,anyone been here before?

hi!! i’m Yura, i’m Egyptian and i make content in the modest fashion, beauty and lifestyle space 🌸

i’ve been at this for like 2-3 months now and i genuinely enjoy it?? the filming, scripting, editing — it doesn’t feel like work to me which i think means i’m in the right place lol. but i’m also kind of stuck and i don’t really have creator friends irl to talk to about this stuff so… here i am 😭

i have a portfolio, i reach out to brands on instagram, i’ve made content for actual products — skincare, vitamins, haircare. like i feel like i’m doing the things but most outreach just gets left on seen and i’m starting to wonder if i’m missing something obvious that everyone else already knows

a few things i’d love to hear from people who’ve been here:

•	what made brands actually start responding to you?
•	how did you figure out your rates when you were just starting out?
•	what did your first brand deal actually look like — how did it happen?

just want to make sure i’m not doing something fundamentally wrong lol

anyway hi again, happy to be here and excited to be around people who actually get it 🤍
