My girlfriend's online store just got a legal notice... is this serious?
My girlfriend runs a small WooCommerce store through an LLC, and she just received a letter saying the business could face legal action because the website is not accessible to people with disabilities.
Neither of us even knew this was something a small online store could get sued over. They're claiming parts of the website don't work properly with screen readers and other accessibility tools.
The business isn't huge, so the cost of dealing with a lawsuit or settlement could really hurt her.
Has anyone dealt with something like this before? Should she contact a lawyer first, check her business insurance, or start fixing the accessibility issues right away?
Also, what should she have done when setting up the store to avoid this happening in the first place?
