my wip. Optimus Prime

hey again, wanted to show another sneak peek of my Optimus Prime update i've been working on since November. it's been tedious yet fun going through the process of experimenting and refining the aspects of his design over and over again, trial and error until eventually 😭 I'll have a build that I'm happy with in looks, structure, and transformation.

by the time I'm done, he should sport at least 2010's toyline levels of articulation, a removable & holdable matrix of leadership, a pair of ion blasters and axes (that would integrate to complete the truck mode), and full compatibility with any future accessories I may make for him to combine with.

otherwise, stay tuned.

Lego X Linda - Jazz 2.0

hey again, it's been an even longer while since my last post lol. with lego transformers not being the only thing i design anymore, i'm always happy whenever i get the time to finish up the many builds i have in progress. today, i wanted to share an update to one of my earlier builds of my personal favorite transformer: Jazz.

like all my other builds, i never really have a specific aesthetic or visual design in mind besides the continuities of Jazz i grew up with (Bayverse, Animated, WFC/FOC) and whatever makes the robot, vehicle, and transformation as clean and solid as possible between them. i feel like this new version fits that statement a lot more than my 2 year old original, with easily the best looking vehicle i've made so far (besides Ironhide). the legs are definitely the weakest part due to space constraints in the car mode, but i did my best to flow them in a way that emulates many of those Bayverse designs lol.

jazz includes a dual arm blaster that also acts as a grappling hook from the games, as well as flip out "speakers" using the front wheels of the car mode. and yes, i also made sure to specifically design the waist for him to be ripped apart in half.

overall, i'm extremely happy with not only how this jazz turned out, but how much my skill growth has shown here in the process. i always try to treat these builds as if i were designing actual figures, and is something i plan to carry out more in my future builds and/or updates. stay tuned.
