How do we feel about the World Cup contingent?
Obviously Saibari is breaking out in a big way, but some other guys are playing well too.
Dest has been awesome doing a hybrid RW/RWB thing. (and Alex Freeman has been doing a solid Jordan Teze impersonation behind him). He and Malik Tillman have led a tenacious press. Pepi hasnt played much bc Balogun got off to such a hot start, but im looking forward to seeing he and Tillman together again around the box tonight.
Tillman btw, I told all my friends 2.5 years ago that he was going to end up as our (USA) best player one day, and hes on his way.
Matej Kovar didnt play particularly poorly himself, but the team in front of him was awful. Curacao alsp had a rough go but Armando got to start some WC games in his home confederation, so thats cool. Perisic putting good shifts in, and Esmir Bajrakterovic gets to face the land of his birth in R32.
I also think Mauro could have helped this Brazil team. That fullback group is highly suspect in my opinion.
in the alum group, Gakpo and Dumfries have been so good theyre even getting Brian Brobbey on the goal sheet.
