Ik was afgelopen woensdag bij de bewonersbijeenkomst over de uitbreiding van het Philips Stadion. Geen grote verrassingen, maar wel wat leuke details die ik nog niet wist. Heb ze nog nergens anders gezien, ook niet in het ED, dus misschien wel leuk om te delen. Even puntsgewijs opgesteld:

• De spelersbussen kunnen straks in het stadion parkeren, aan de west-kant.
• Volgens mij ook de bedoeling dat de spelers zo direct het stadion in gaan, dus niet meer via de ingang aan de Frederiklaan.
• Er komt een fietsenstalling in het stadion.
• Tevens zullen er veel pop-up fietsenstalling rond het stadion zijn op wedstrijddagen. O.a. de PSV laan (toch al afgesloten) zal veel plek hebben voor fietsen.
• Ook al containers en groeilichten voor het gras hebbens straks plek in het stadion. (Die staan nu buiten het stadion)
• De tunnel naar het spoor blijft, maar wordt wel verhoogd.
• Uitvak komt op de derde ring.
• De TV/sateliet-wagens tijdens Europese wedstrijden komen waarschijnlijk op de huidige fietsparkeerplaats aan het spoor, naast de Elisabethtunnel
• De bakstenen gevel aan de Frederiklaan (zie hier) is nog onzeker. Het kan zijn dat deze later, na oplevering komt of helemaal niet.
• De parkeerplaatsen direct om het stadion zullen allemaal verdwijnen.
• Ze hebben eerste schetsen laten zien van het nieuwe plein aan de Vonderweg. De inrichting deed een beetje denken aan het nieuw ingerichte Wilhelminaplein.
• De gemeente gaat veel inzetten op pendelbussen, openbaar vervoer en fietsen. Er komt geen enkele parkeerplek bij. Bezoekers moeten echt op een andere manier gaan reizen.
• Het dak is er twee seizoenen van af. Dus regenjassen mee naar wedstrijd.

Wellicht vergeet ik nog wat zaken. Laat maar weten als je nog vragen hebt.

Filip Kostic will be playing on familiar ground on Sunday. The PSV player will be representing Serbia against the Netherlands at the Philips Stadium and is confident about the match.

Kostic is impressed by the atmosphere and culture surrounding PSV. He also hopes that more of his compatriots will choose to play for the club in the future. ‘It’s great to be back here. I’ve seen a few of my team-mates and the stadium is magnificent. There’s a real culture here of always supporting the national team. I think the stadium will be packed and there’ll be a fantastic atmosphere,’ Kostic said at a press conference.

‘From the very first day I arrived here, people asked me about Mateja Kezman and Danko Lazovic. They made a great impression here and threw the doors wide open for all of us. I’ll try to follow in their footsteps, so that many Serbian players will play here in the future too.’

'This is without a doubt the best training programme and a fantastic springboard for young players. I would advise all our young players to come here. You learn everything here about professionalism and nutrition. Many players have built serious careers here, so you really can’t go wrong. That’s good for our national team and for Serbian football.'

Kostic expects Serbia to perform better on Sunday than they did a week ago. ‘I think we were better defensively against the Netherlands (than against Germany, ed.) and dropped deep. The Netherlands are a team who like to have possession. I think they’ll play with a different formation. I expect us to play a better match than we did against Germany.’
