Finding queer people who like having me around irl is impossible and I have no clue why

This might not be the best place to talk about this but I don't know where else to post it. I won't write a giant essay on this either since there isn't much to be said. But anyway, I've only had luck meeting and befriending nice queer people online. Online they're kind but in real life I'm flat out ignored and sometimes even discriminated against in broad daylight when I do things like visit lgbtq events or just attempt to befriend someone I met irl that happened to be gay or trans or anything like that. You would expect it to be the other way around but apparently not. I'm viewed as a freak to whoever I try interacting with people in real life but online I'm practically spoiled. Is there a way to fix this? I really want to meet some people I can relate to in the real world for a change but I have no idea what I'm doing wrong.
