Every episode starts with Sam saying "Welcome back to episode (number)..." which would only be grammatically correct if you're watching the episode again. The more appropriate phrasing would seem to be "Welcome to episode (number)..." since 99% of viewers aren't watching it as a repeat, and even if they were, dropping the "back to" would still be grammatically correct.

Has he discussed this on The Layover or elsewhere? Given the team and the fandom's overall nerdiness, this must have come up before.

I don't ultimately care that much, but given Sam's propensity for exactingness, it seems a bit odd.
