How difficult was it for ordinary East German citizens to travel to other Eastern Bloc countries (like Poland or Hungary) for vacation?
Hi everyone, I am very interested in the history of the GDR. I know traveling to the West was restricted, but I am curious about travel within the Eastern Bloc. How hard was it to get permission or currency to vacation in places like Lake Balaton or the Polish coast? Thanks!
