When my employer forgot to tell me I was allegedly fired
This happened at a prior job and I wanted to share. I worked at a theme park a few years ago. Through most of the year I worked in the stores and during the Halloween time I had done a temporary transfer to be a scare actor for the two months.
Afterwards, I was supposed to be transferred back to stores for the Christmas holiday season. At least that was supposed to happen. The Halloween event ended and I was awaiting an email about exchanging my store uniform to the holiday uniform. I never got it. I ended up emailing HR and my original department.
HR had responded first saying that I was allegedly showing up terminated in the system. Sometime later, my department sent me further details. Apparently, the Entertainment department had allegedly terminated me after trying to contact me. I had not received any emails or calls during that 2 week time frame.
My department had stated that they would hire me back and that my first day would be during the first weekend that the holiday event would start. When I went into the system, I realized that they allegedly had me as a regular associate instead of the team lead status, which is a title under supervisor position. When I went into work that night, I couldn’t clock in. It turned out that they never put me in the schedule. After that shift, I wasn’t scheduled for any more. I ended up putting in my two weeks and found another job. When they opened back up for the new season, I did put in an application. I got no response and had contacted HR again. They ended up telling me that I was allegedly put on the ‘no rehire’ list. I asked why, but I never got an answer.
