Advice on looms

Hello everyone,

I recently started tablet weaving and I have woven a couple of bands just using clamps. For me this has been perfect for keeping an even tension on the yarn and allows me to start and stop without having to set up anything.

A friend of mine got a loom and borrowed it to me, but I haven't seen anyone else use one like this. Unlike the regular inkle looms it's closed on both sides. I struggled to use it, especially keeping the tension even. I also kept having to retie all the yarn when I ran out of space for the yarn and tablets.

Maybe I just didn't use it correctly?

I would like to work with a small loom because it's easily transportable, so I was wondering if anyone here has a similar built and can give advice or link instructions/videos etc. Or should I get/built my own loom what I should watch out for?

Anyone have a pattern?

I saw this pattern for sale at a medieval market, but the person selling it didn't weave it themselves so they couldn't tell me.

Google image reverse search didn't help either.

Has anybody else here seen it before and or have a clue?

What to do if yarn breaks?

So I haven't had this issue before.

I am pretty sure that in this case it's because I used the same yarn learning tablet weaving for the first time. I thought it's a bit of a waste to toss it, so I reopened it and tried a new pattern. In one place the yarn really thinned out and broke.

Obviously I usually wouldn't be reusing yarn, so I am not super worried, but I am still curious if there is any way to fix this?

Looking for instructions...

I found this hat in an online shop. I doesn't ship to my country though. I am just starting nålbinding and only know the Oslo stich so far, but I thought I would give it a try.

I am guessing this is just going in rounds until the end, forming a tube which is stiched together at the top. (Seen that somewhere else.) Does anyone have any further ideas about how to go about this? Like what stich and connecting stitch might have been used?

Help with pattern

Hello there, I started tablet weaving last year and got back into it recently after a long hiatus. My friend - who does a lot of reenactment - got me this loom from a fair he visited.

This piece of woven material was already on the loom and I would love to finish it. BUT there was no pattern included. I haven't written any myself and thought I would ask if anyone here can help me out.

On the last picture you can see which way each tablet is tilted and which color the threads in each hole are. Hope that helps.

It's probably just a couple of turns forwards and then backwards, but I don't want to randomly try and then have to open up everything again if it's incorrect.

(Also English is not my native language so please bear with me if I have follow up questions that might seem odd - it's probably a language thing.)

Have seasons become more expensive?

This is not a rant. I haven't seen any post about this, I haven't done the math and I am just curious.

I joined last year at the beginning of Blue Bird and didn't get a season pass. I did for all following seasons, collected all cosmetics and emotes and had around 150+ candles left over at the end that converted to regular candles. This time around for Season of Carnival, I got a bit less because I skipped some days all together.

Before introducing the new system, we were not able to skip any items in the spirit friendship trees. I have skipped pretty much all spells and dyes in the friendship trees by havingspirits join me for 20min. I don't actually have more candles left over at the end of the season though. So I was wondering if the total amount of seasonal candles necessary to complete the season is higher than it was before?

Was heißt das genau?
