Found this ring in my late dad's jewelry box. He'd had it since 1990 or earlier as far as I know. Help identifying any part of this would be much appreciated!

I was counting worms and cocoons from my experiment bin, and I was getting some photos of the cocoons when one started hatching in my hand!
