Any information please?

Hello all, I have just been given this jewellery, it belonged to my granny. Just wondering if anyone had any information on the items. I'm not expecting anything that valuable but would like to know some of the history.

Sorry in advance for the picture quality, I suffer with shaky hands! Thank you all in advance.

Australian cuff links from early 20th century

Hi, I have a set of cuff links that belonged to my great grandfather. He lived in Sydney, Australia between 1900 and 1970 (approx.). I don't have any history of him travelling abroad so assume they would have been purchased in Australia.

I am wondering if you can tell me anything about the material and manufacturer of these? I'm about to get them repurposed into rings and would like to make sure that there's nothing I should be aware of being doing that.

Is this anything special??

Hi all!! I’m so grateful to find this sub lol. I have this charm that is in complete disarray… I’m so curious as to what it could be to lead it oxidizing and turning out like this over years that have passed.

I got it as a $5 test piece from a wonderful jewelry maker (specializes in custom gold and sterling silver equestrian pieces) YEARS ago and now I’m like huh is the metal anything special that I could put some elbow grease into or is it just done lol. I would have to assume it isn’t sterling as I have many beautiful pieces from this maker and this was the only one that has aged this way so now I’m more so curious than anything hahah. I did take a silver cloth to it, which did nothing as I pretty much expected.

Thank you guys for any help in advance!!!

What symbol is on this bracelet? Turkish, Persia or what other place could it be from?

I found this beautiful bracelet at a thrift store today. Now I am wondering what the symbol might be?

Could this be Turkish, Persian, or from what other place in the Middle East (it looks Middle Eastern to me)?

What type of stone could the green stones be?

I understand that it is silver (925 stamp), but aside from that I can not tell much about it and would love to hear more about it.

Thank you kindly

Are these beads glass? I can’t seem to find anything online that has this “banding” and google images keeps saying lapis but I really don’t think that’s true :/ any help would be appreciated!

The banding at the center makes me think it’s glass but I can’t find anything on vintage glass beads like this. It’s heavy and cold, honestly I really love the color, whatever it is. The clasp as you can see from pictures is different and almost seems like it was replaced/repaired.

I used an acid test for the gold beads as well and it dissolved with the 18k solution but not the 14k solution? I only just got the kit over the weekend so I may be doing it wrong :p (please ignore my awful cuticles I love to garden lol)

Star Sapphire Earrings

I inherited these from my grandmother when she passed and happily wore them on my wedding day. I have no knowledge of their history or value. Any ideas? I can upload more pics if helpful!

They came to me in a Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co box, but the only stamp I could find on the earrings was 14KT. So I assume they’re star sapphires with mined diamonds set in 14KT gold. A jeweller did confirm the diamonds are real. No official appraisal yet.

I plan to keep them for future generations, but am genuinely curious about their value and history.

Anyone wanna take a guess?

This once belonged to my grandma. I wonder what era it came from, if these are real gems and if it’s real gold (unmarked).

I have no plans on getting rid of it. So no real need to take it to a jeweler or whatever, I’m going to enjoy it just the same but I’m curious especially what the gems are.

One diamond or “diamond” is missing, so I know not to wear it, slightly too big anyways! But I love just having it.

Thanks in advance!

Bought it for 27 cents.

Do I have cause to feel like I robbed someone? Found this at my local Habitat for Humanity and they charged me just 27 cents for it. Seems to say something about Taxco and has the numbers 925. Can anyone tell me anything about it?

Inherited Ring

I got this ring almost a decade ago and since it didn’t fit me, it has been always stashed away. I was hoping anyone might have some information about it and send me in the right direction!

Rings

Hi everyone, I was doing some cleaning and I came across these 2 rings in one of my boxes. I'm not an expert on jewelry. I was wondering if anyone had any information on these.

Thank you.

Definitely Costume?

I picked up this today from an antique store for £4 - the lady didn't know anything about it and it has no identifying marks on the band. Lack of prongs would suggest it's all glued down, right? I love it either way 🥰

Found at a thrift store - any idea company ??

$4 at the thrift! clasp says 18k and it has small beads that are iridescent purple/blue/black, im guessing 18k means white gold because its silver in color, but not really sure anything beyond that

Inherited ring from my great grandfather

I got this ring among a few other pieces when my grandfather passed. His father was from Scotland and I was told he had this made before he came to the states. It’s a two tone 14k w Celtic design. Does anyone have an idea of the makers mark? I can’t find much online I’m guessing it’s maybe just a small jeweler. Any knowledge welcome!

Keywords for finding replacement?

Thrifted this necklace in Italy. As you can see, there's a fair amount of copper content. Turned my skin green on hot days. But I can't find a replacement that is as smooth as this one. When I search foxtail chain, wheat chain, woven chain, etc., they are all rather chunky. Not ground down like this one is. Any recommendations for finding an equivalent in sterling/stainless/other?

Gold? Do a lot of detecting. Found this morning. Assuming fake as I can’t find stamp, but is heavy.

Thoughts assuming it’s fake, but I’ll have it tested later

I originally assumed these were carnelian, but could they be bakelite?

Picked up at the thrift today so unfortunately I don't know any background info. I originally assumed these were carnelian but have seen some similar online as bakelite.

I don't have any simichrome, but rubbing a q tip with baking soda and water turns the q tip yellow, and it definitely also has a strong formaldehyde smell after running a bead under hot water.

They do not fluorescence, so I don't think amber.

It has a cute little gold filled box clasp so I'm confident it's vintage.

I haven't handled a lot of bakelite before so wanted to ask some more knowledgeable folks before I got overly hopeful haha

Edit: a little more info since I was able to check, it does not fluorescence or react to UV which I think rules out amber? Currently leaning towards Catalin after someone mentioned it since that seems to come in more colors and translucent-ness but keep the thoughts and ideas coming!

Great uncle’s WWII find

The story goes my great uncle (Canadian) found this in the ruins of a bombed or burnt down house in Germany during WWII. I’ve been told it was warped when he found it because of the heat of the house fire.

I don’t know if these are the best pictures, I can’t get my phone to focus any more on the hallmark, but does anyone have an idea of the era? My guess is Edwardian because of the filigree, but I really don’t know. And what is the stone in the center, maybe amethyst?

Thanks :)
