Massive thumbs down to the girl who stole a 90 year old lady's vehicle from central car wash today while she was gassing up!! What a crazy world we live in today when you'd take advantage of the elderly like that. I hope they catch her.
Does anyone know of any businesses in town hiring for part time positions right now? I've been wanting to pick up some extra hours somewhere
Does anyone know if the Circle K on Frederica is actually open this early? I have to go tomorrow to pick up something randomly before work and I just don't wanna get there and it be closed. I know it's a random ask.
My sweet friend is turning 25 and I need to get her something special. Completely out of my realm but she says she loves trinkets, and I have no idea where to shop other than maybe Mystic Garden but I tried to stay away from there, I went there once and it was a weird vibe. I'll definitely pop in sometime tomorrow anyway it's for her. I don't think I have any other option though? I definitely want to get her something more personal than just a gift card to Chapters lol. If anyone had any ideas I'd be super grateful!
Good news to brighten this apocalyptic tuesday. I missed Shekhos.
I'm wondering where would be the best spot to go for a hike with my dad, preferably a longer hike and somewhere that isn't too challenging (not a lot of uphill/not steep). He's in his 60s, very active and pretty agile, he just has knee and ankle issues so I worry that anything uphill will bother him. We've done the basic ones that every local in tbay would know, if that makes sense. Willing to drive a little out there for a good hike too, just need to plan for it.
I was on the hunt for a different restaurant in tbay and the sov came up as a result on google. They must have recently changed their page on google because it says "opening date to come" instead of closed or permanently closed since the last time I tried to look for an update on them. I miss it a lot if i'm being honest, only bar I actually enjoyed going to now I don't even bother going downtown lol
I've babysat for people that weren't relatives a bunch of times throughout my life and every instance except for one the parent has never paid well. That's not really the purpose of my post though. I'm considering a babysitting gig currently 3-4 times a week, 9-5pm (I'm assuming it'll be longer though since the parent might work until 5pm and I'd obviously have to stay with the kids until she gets home. The boys are 9 and 11 which honestly sounds like a dream lol they would be just doing normal boy stuff playing outside/video games/whatever since it'll be throughout the summer. There's a cat and a dog but that's no biggie. She wants to pay around $80 a day and there's a commute for me since this person lives in a rural community area, but google maps told me it's like a 13-15 minute drive from my house. I asked if she'd be willing to pay $100 a day and that would help with gas and make it more justifiable for me. What do people think, is this fair? I'm wondering what gives tbh because underpaying babysitters seems to be common and I wouldn't be treating this experience any different than an actual job, so why should they? I'm not expecting to just show up and sit on my phone/ignore the children or not be present during my "shift" so
I recently was rewatching the tv show Nashville and recognized so many similarities between Tate and Lennon Stella, the singer/songwriter that plays Maddie Claybourne on the series. Not her fictional storyline necessarily but her real-life persona and music -- which i'm not hating at all and I love both artists (they're both Canadian! Woo) just that they are similar. Lennon is not as active in the music scene after her Nashville role and I loved her EP and there was a music video for her song "Fancy" which featured an angel/ethereal theme just like Nobody's Girl (though it doesn't top Tate's lyricism for me in the song I think some of her lines are utterally perfect). Tate is growing in stardom and I think it's interesting to see how their career choices have overlapped.
