DCS F-16C | How does laser handoff from a Stormcaster drone actually work in combat testing? Flew the AGM-65D val/ver mission in Sentry Pacific 25 M5

Mission 5 of Sentry Pacific 25 has one of the most unusual setups I've flown in DCS: you're acting as a USAF Test Pilot validating whether the F-16C Litening pod can acquire a laser spot designated by a Stormcaster drone — the drone is airdropped from a C-130 into R-7201 and operated from a boat by AATC Special Warfare guys. Your job is to val/ver (validate & verify) the laser acquisition, then fire AGM-65D Mavericks for test completeness. What made it interesting tactically: - You need line of sight to the drone's laser, so altitude matters more than usual — climb as high as the cloud layer allows - The test card parameters are strict: this isn't a CAS mission, it's a precision test environment - You also need to hit the tanker on the East track for AAR currency before heading to the IP outside R-7201 - Intel notes Chinese Navy/Air Force still probing the area, so situational awareness stays high even during a "test" sortie Flew the full mission including the tanking and the 4-shot Maverick sequence (Stache takes first two, you take the last two). Video with all the procedures if anyone's curious about the R-7201 range setup:

Sentry Pacific '25 M4 "Sprung a Leak" — Synchronized LGB drop + LSS with Reaper-22 MQ-9 | F-16C DCS

Mission 4 of my Sentry Pacific '25 campaign playthrough.

The objective: sink a decommissioned ship near Farallon De Medinilla (R-7201) to create an artificial reef. Easy enough, except the 4 x GBU-10 drops need to be perfectly synchronized with Stache — all four 2,000 lb bombs hitting simultaneously so the ship sinks vertically.

The ingress is the fun part: 500 KIAS at 250' AGL over the Pacific, then a pop-up to 10K, LSS to acquire Reaper-22's MQ-9 laser — which gave me a harder time than expected — and a single one-pass haul-ass release.

After the drop we flow to W455 for a BFM vul time vs. the 199th FS Raptors.

Happy to answer questions about the LSS/LST setup — it's trickier than it looks.

SP-03 "Dropping Iron" — working with the AATC Special Warfare Division testing the Next Generation Handheld Lasing System (NGHLS).

Single ship noise abatement departure from Saipan (no afterburner, 60 sec separation), then north to W-350 for four GBU-12 CCRP passes at FL150 / 450 KIAS. JTAC callsign Wicked 22 is on the ground marking targets with green smoke and guiding the bombs with his laser — our job is to fly the run-in precisely, release, and get out of the way.

As far as I can tell this is the first complete video walkthrough of this mission on YouTube. Happy to answer questions about the procedures or the campaign in general.
