This is nuts.
Ordered a set of FFB rudder pedals from Switzerland (Brunner) for my DCS/FS2024 rig. This is just the duty fees.
Anyone else on this side of the pond tired of winning yet?

I can’t figure out why my MAV seeker screen is super blurry. I am using D variant Maverick
Well, y'all weren't lying. This is a little bit difficult. Not impossible, but certainly something I have to practice. I appreciate everybody on here that has been encouraging.
I'm a disabled veteran and this has quickly become my therapy, albeit sometimes frustrating.
And over the course of a year, my interest has peaked to a point where I entered in for a raffle in the off chance I might be able to go to flight school, and I actually won. So I very much appreciate you all who keep this passion going for so many. And thank you for letting me share this exciting few moments with you.
What was the first aircraft you refueled?
Bonus points if any of you have done this in real life. Would love to hear about it. Boom operator or pilot.
Vibecoded an app to string together a bunch of replays into a single timeline that can span weeks and viewed through a browser. In https://acmi-viewer.github.io/ there's a replay of the last week of contention server's modern campaign, and you can search and spectate any of the 18 000 flights from that period. Pretty handy for quickly reviewing your or other peoples sorties.
If you are wanting to fly more soviet style aircraft, there are some excellent freeware options for X-Plane. Including:
Tu-154
Tu-134
An-12
Il-76
I would say out of all of them the Tu-154 is the most complete, and is payware quality. It even has an English cockpit translation. The Tu-134 and An-12 follow closely behind. I would say the Il-76 is a little dated, but is still fun to fly. These are all on the Felis Discord. Highly recommend checking them out!
Learning about rio, interested to find out how to use the HOLd mode, if it makes easier to setup cdnu for pilot to better setup race track at ip's, stacks, or even orbit around target point..
Not to me, specifically, but to the community. What’s your favorite module and why? What do you love about it? What are your favorite memories and stories? What makes it special to you as an individual?
Hi folks, after 13 years of the virtual Stingers we’ve put down everything we’ve learned in a video tutorial designed to give new pilots some more reference of how to fly a Hornet onto and aircraft carrier.
Hope it helps! Cheers Jar
If a weapon's CLSID is forced onto a pylon via LUA, does the aircraft need dedicated MFD or avionics code to fire it, or can DCS default to a generic launch trigger? And is UnitPayloads.lua in Saved Games enough to override loadouts without directly touching CoreMods?
So after getting my first HOTAS and trying many different sims, I find myself a little frustrated with most of the flight sims on the market today. While they're incredibly detailed, I feel like almost all of them lack a proper gameplay loop and "stuff to do".
At this point I feel like I'm looking for a game that doesn't exist till DCS comes out with the dynamic campaign.
What are your favorite flight sims that have good gameplay loops?
Hi there, appreciate there needs to be fun in combat flight sims, but especially around the warbirds era its quite usual to become an ace every sortie. Just wondering what everyone reckons is the most realistic gameplay you can achieve, especially around it being difficult to shoot down enemy planes.
I’ve been learning the F/A-18C and I’m honestly getting to the point where I’m considering giving up on DCS because I just cannot get carrier landings down.
I can barely land on the carrier even during the day. From a distance the carrier looks absolutely tiny on my monitor, and I find it incredibly difficult to control the aircraft precisely enough to stay lined up and on glideslope all the way to the deck.
I’ve done the training and I’ve spent a lot of time practicing carrier landings, including missions where I start just a few miles behind the carrier so I can practice the approach over and over again. But I’m still incredibly inconsistent. Out of maybe 10 attempts, I’ll successfully land once.
What really made me realize how much I’m struggling was Mission 2 of The Serpent’s Head. I got to the carrier recovery and just couldn’t do it. If I can barely manage a carrier landing during the day when I can actually see the ship, I have no idea how I’m supposed to do it at night.
I also find the controls extremely sensitive during the approach. It feels like the smallest throttle adjustment sends me off the glideslope, and then I correct it, overcorrect, and end up constantly chasing the aircraft all the way down.
Did anyone else struggle this much when learning carrier landings? Is there something fundamental I might be doing wrong?
Any advice on how to practice this without losing my mind would be appreciated.

What are people using these days?
I had two jetseat pads from Andre's shop but unfortunately both broke. Most recent one just does not turn on anymore. Last used it one morning ago and it just quit.
If the HF8 Pro more durable?
I currently use simshakers for Aviators so would like to continue using that.
Any Updates about the CM400AKG? Several months ago there were rumors about it being close to being added to the JF17. However, now It seems to be barely mentioned of.
I’m somewhat new to DCS, but not flight sims. I’ve been going hard on the Kiowa and absolutely love it. If anyone is cool with letting an idiot ride in the co-pilot seat so I can learn from you that would be sick. I only play Contention and I’ve been running logistics and lazing for my buddy. None of my friends fly helis so I’ve been on my own for the most part. I just want some advice on avoiding contacts/radar and positioning. YouTube can tell me what to do not what NOT to do. Thanks.
Hello everyone!
Lately I've been getting interested in the world of force-feedback joysticks, which I haven't touched since my SideWinder Force Feedback Pro back in 1997.
But after looking into it, and in particular after taking a closer look at the Moza AB9 and AB6, as well as the upcoming Virpil Atlas, I get the impression that modern solutions are essentially reserved for proper fixed cockpits and aren't really suited to removable use on a regular desk like mine, which you can see in the picture.
Even though it might not look like it, I mainly use this desk for work, so it's not possible for me to have a permanent setup. I saw a YouTube video of someone using their Moza AB9 mounted to their desk with a clamp (https://youtu.be/d99hRg00fCQ), which seems fine. But that seems difficult to do with the Virpil Atlas, which is the one I'm more interested in. Its size seems to make this kind of solution particularly difficult, and Virpil themselves indicate that it isn't designed for this kind of use.
Do you see any possibility that would be compatible with my setup? Put the Atlas directly on the floor and use a stick extension? Build some kind of homemade solution with 3D-printed parts? To make things even more complicated, my desk has drawers... (and I'm not planning to replace it). Use an AB9 or even an AB6 instead? From what I've read, I get the impression that the Moza units require quite a lot of configuration, and I'm hoping the Virpil will be a bit more plug-and-play. For context, I'm not necessarily looking for exceptional resistance or tons of force-feedback effects, but rather the ability to configure the resistance of my stick however I want without having to take the cams and springs apart every time, which gets very annoying very quickly.
To top it all off, I have much less time to spend on DCS (yes, I forgot to mention that this would be the main use) since my son was born, and even before that I was already spending more time configuring my HOTAS than actually playing. 😅
After saying all that, I feel like I've basically answered my own question: my use case simply isn't suited to a force-feedback joystick. It's a shame because I'd really like to give one a try :). But I'd still like to know what you guys think.
Thanks a lot in advance for your opinions!

ps; here some sneak peeks
Hiyaz. Buddy & I are learning the f14BU. Him as pilot me as RIO. We have a problem when switching from a/g back to a/a & trying to use the pilot scan modes. When he opens the ACM cover & switches to a/a & presses eg. PAL or another of the other modes, we don't get any symbology or see the scan moving eg. left to right.
Is there a certain procedure to change from a/g to a/g that we are missing? Master arm is on btw. Other than him just swapping from A/G to A/A & opening the ACM cover? Scenario: eg. I find a target with the pod & full click on Lantirn trigger to get a range & drop cue for the pilot for a GBU12. We get jumped & have to quickly dogfight.
Problem seems to happen more often on mp servers. Though everything seems smooth, could it be a sync problem or it's just us? lol
