As you can see, 67 and 76 don’t align. I tried many times to press Enter and Backspace, but it didn’t work. I don’t know how to describe it in particular. Do you know how to make the lines above and below equal?

Thank you.

General GRE for a PhD in the U.S.?

Context: Asian, international student currently studying undergrad in Canada, seeking a life sci (e.g. biotech) PhD in a university in the U.S. for a PhD.

I'm an incoming junior and want to go straight to a PhD in the U.S. My GPA and research experience are normal.

Do you recommend taking the GRE?
IMO, having a GRE score can strengthen my application.

Lack of research experience in Canada

I’m a 2nd-year student at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. I’m a rising junior. I’m an international student.

I want to go to the U.S. to pursue graduate studies in life science (not sure what to study)

I have done extensive research on getting a PhD, and I know that research experience is very very important.

I’m so frustrated by the lack of funding at Canadian universities due to caps on international students. As a result, my university doesn’t provide enough research experience, making me so stressed. I feel Canada is so cooked right now…The economy and job market are bad.

I will secure one research assistant position with my prof in the fall sem, but it’s definitely not enough for a PhD.

Any tips to help me obtain research experience and graduate school app?

I will apply for grad school next year. OMG. Should I do a fifth year for co-op?

Work Learn Winter Session Question

For Work Learn in the winter session, do I need to go to the office all the time, or can I work online partially?

Let’s say an admin job.

I’m going to take 5-6 classes in the first sem. I think I won’t have time during the day (business hours) to work at the office every week.

I’m currently a second-year student at a Canadian university. I’m considering between the Co-op program and consecutive Dean’s list.

I want to go straight to a PhD in life science (probably biotech) after undergrad, skipping a master’s degree.

My university offers Co-op, but it requires students to have a fall/spring work term, which means I will be away from uni.

The Dean’s list entails staying in university for the whole academic year: Fall semester + Spring semester.

Should I select the Co-op program or the Dean’s list?

P.S. I can drop out of the Co-op program

I'm currently a university student in Canada. I plan to pursue graduate studies (hopefully a PhD straight from undergrad, or a Master's and then PhD) in the US in the future, and hopefully work in the US.

Soon, I will have an exchange semester at a prestigious university in China. On social media, I see that China is very developed, so l want to visit it.

China follows communism. My parents think that American employers don't like communism, which potentially impacts my job prospects.

My parents love reading the news, and they learned that some Chinese people sell American data/things to China, Chinese spies in the US, etc.

My parents aren't big fans of communism.

What do you think?

Any other info is appreciated.

I have applied for a SD exam. What does the exam-taking process look like?

If I’m the only person in a course who applies for a SD, will I take the exam alone? Will I take the exam while the invigilator is my prof.?

Any other information is appreciated
