Living downtown vs living near university (Talence)

Hello everyone!

I'm an incoming international student from the United States who will be doing a semester of my master's at the University of Bordeaux this fall, and I'm currently in the housing search process.

I will mostly be at the UBx Talence campus, so I was wondering if it is better to live near campus in Talence, or downtown in Bordeaux? I was told the area around campus there is kind of boring and very suburban, which I'd like to avoid. I'd prefer to have a lot of activities around, and things like gyms, grocery stores, restaurants, etc., so perhaps downtown is better. Is that generally accurate?

I'm also not sure of the public transportation situation to get from Bordeaux to Talence, is it accessible, reliable, and decently fast?

Also are there any areas to avoid living as a student, safety-wise, or other reasons?

Any advice is appreciated!

International masters student at KU

Hello! I was recently admitted to a masters program at KU, and I am trying to decide between that program and another I was admitted to in the EU (I am from the United States). I'm mostly wondering how other international or masters student have found Copenhagen!

I'm from Seattle, Washington, so I'm used to cooler weather and higher costs of living, but how expensive is it as a student in Copenhagen, and how do people find the weather year-round? I've heard it can be hard to find housing as well...

Also, if anyone has any insight into the quality of teaching at KU (the masters program would be in English), let me know! Not sure if this is the case for all masters programs there, but the internship and study abroad aspects of the program are very appealing to me, and it seems like the careers alumni have gone into after the program are exactly aligned with what I'd like to do.

Copenhagen seems like a really cool place to study and live, but I haven't visited, so please be honest if that's not the case!

The other program is essentially identical in terms of courses, and I've seen that the Danish government provides stipends to students, and I am also an EU citizen, so I believe I would be eligible for this. If that's the case the programs would be identical in terms of finances and courses, so it would really just come down to location.

I'm really torn between the KU program and the other one so please share your thoughts on Copenhagen, hopefully it can help me decide!!!
