Hey everyone,

I have very recently started a new job in Newcastle, as a software dev. Since I moved here on my own, I don't know anyone (not that I had any friends before...). But this feels like a good time as any to start fresh and actually try, across many things in my life.

I'm not really going to try and diagnose myself and my problems, but I do have pretty damn bad anxiety around everyday social things, so it's hard for me to make friends "the normal way". So, trying to see if I can find anyone here from the north-east, as I do want to eventually find local irl friends.

Abot me, I mostly work and sleep these days. And haven't done much better before. I would say I am into gaming and anime, though they don't hit quite the same anymore. So, I'm definitely trying to gradually introduce new interests to my life, as I settle down.

I wish I was able to write a more interesting and exciting post about the prospect of being my friend. But I suppose I am hoping for someone in a similar situation to identify with.

Anyways, I'll reply to everyone, so don't be shy to send a dm. But again, I am basically only looking for locals around me. I've done the online friendships over the years, and while I still talk to some of these people, it just doesn't hit the same.
