Doctor recommendations

Moving to Apex at the end of summer. I’m out of state. Does anyone have amazing primary care doctor or dentists that they love? Thanks!

Training plan - first ultra!!

I signed up for my first 50k for January 2027. I’ve trained for a half marathon before but that’s the longest I’ve ran. I tried to use chat gpt and google to create a plan lol. I’m struggling to find the right plan to build well and prevent injury.

What should my peak weekly mileage be? Can I start with four runs a week and build to five to prevent early burnout?

I still plan to lift 3-4 times a week to prevent injury too.

Little background if it matters - was running 18 miles a week for about a year and a half, got a knee injury a few months ago due to a fall and mix of not training legs like I should have been. Built back up to 15 miles a week and just completed Hyrox nyc in June. Took about 2 full weeks off running for a trip in Italy but I was walking 10 miles a day atleast lol. This week I’m officially back and running 15 miles but my longest run is only going to be 5 miles to ease back in.

If anyone has any tips, advice, training plans that they’ve used and worked - let me know! Thanks!

Training for terrain

Thinking about signing up for the southern tour ultra in Wilmington nc. This will be my first ultra. It’s flat but the terrain description scares me. I only ever run on roads, pavement, track etc. how would I train for sand if I’m not near any? Should I look for another race or give it a shot?

The course says this:

The course is primarily flat, featuring natural rolling flows without steep climbs. However, the challenge lies in its variety: packed sand paths, single-track trails, and bush-hogged routes through dense woods. This dynamic terrain will keep runners engaged and rewarded with unparalleled scenery.
