Help please!

I used watercolour and gouache for this painting but I feel like something is missing, it’s taken all of my strength to carry on with it I’ve put it down for the night but I want it to work so badly 😅 what would you do at this point to make it better?

It was my 30th birthday yesterday and I absolutely hate my birthday, I just feel like mine is always overlooked - people who should care don’t etc so I wanted to represent that in a painting.

First time trying a full gouache painting

I normally use white gouache as highlights for water colouring but I bought a set of meeden paints and I’m in love with them, it will take me some getting used to the medium but had a lot of fun playing around 😊

Quick marker landscape

It’s not perfect but I am so proud because it’s the first thing I’ve done completely from imagination! Clouds are difficult for me though 😬

Water practice

I find clouds and water extremely difficult so I’m trying to push myself out of my comfort zone. This is supposed to be sort of foamy waves, I’m not happy with it but have to start somewhere right?

The gouache I bought for the white was absolute awful so sheer it wasn’t even worth it, so after a minor breakdown I ended up splashing out on some better gouache and watercolours rip my bank account who hates to see another hyper fixation coming 😂

First time using acrylic markers

Not 100% happy with it but I had fun playing around with the markers 😁

Day 5: Brontosaurus

I took a little break because I was getting frustrated with myself but happy to be painting again. There’s still things I’d change about this but I’m quite proud of it 😊🦕

Day 4

I didn't get to paint yesterday and it took me forever to decide what I wanted to paint tonight so I feel like my heart wasn't completely in it, a bit disappointed about the eyes but it's all a learning curve 🐥

Day 3

Just a little tutorial by ArtbyLynzi on tiktok. Not really too pleased with this one but it taught me some different techniques. I hope you all won't get fed up of me posting 😆

What's your favourite thing you have painted this week/month so far?

Very first time with watercolour

This was my first time using watercolour paints and it’s the only painting I was somewhat happy with, I had around 4 failed ones 🥲

I’m trying very hard to not be discouraged, I’m a perfectionist so lose interest real fast if I’m not good at something right away (I know I should have more patience it’s just how my brain works 😬) but I really want to try and get passed that so if anyone has any tips or tutorial recommendations please let me know 😊

I used a himi watercolour palette

Butterfly nails 🦋

Gel x nails, I’m not a professional just enjoy doing my own nails at home. I need to practise my nail art for sure especially with my non dominant hand haha but I’m happy with how these turned out 😊
