Got absolutely burned for booking my flight early. Is there an app that actually fixes this?
So I booked a flight from Chicago to Miami back in January for a trip in March. Paid $410 because it was around spring break and I wanted to lock it in before prices went completely insane.
Flash forward to a month before the trip: some budget airline announces a brand new direct route for that exact same flight path. Because of the new competition, my airline instantly panics and slashes their prices. I check my exact flight out of curiosity, and the price dropped to $280. Literally $130 cheaper for the exact same seat just because another airline changed its schedule.
Spent an hour playing phone tag with customer service trying to get a voucher for the difference, but they basically told me tough luck, we don't match retroactive market changes. It feels like such a scam to pay a premium for planning ahead, only to get punished for it. Does anyone use an app or an AI tool that actually tracks these specific route drops and handles the rebooking/refund stuff automatically? I'm completely done dealing with their support line.
