Dropped nearly $3k on a new Kamado Joe v2— misaligned hinge/seal and can't reach temp out of the box. Any advice?
Switched over from two frustrating Traegers hoping for a premium experience, but my out-of-the-box setup has been rough:
Hinge & Seal Alignment: The dome and seal aren't sitting flush (photos attached). Do I just need to loosen and adjust the bands/hinge tension, or is this a defect?
Reaching Temp: Couldn't get it up to initial burn-in temps using just the stock setup and standard charcoal.
For a ~$2,300 cooker, having to immediately consider $400 in aftermarket accessories (charcoal basket, Inkbird controller fan, extra starters) feels ridiculous. Am I missing something basic on the initial airflow setup, or did I get a dud?
