First gear resistance and notchiness even when warm
Hey all, new GR86 with <500 miles. I’ve noticed 1st gear is pretty notchy, even when the car is fully warmed up.
In the video, engine on, clutch fully depressed, and I’m stationary. On the first shift into 1st, I have to put a bit of pressure on the shifter even after it’s past the gate to get it fully into gear. Then I go back to N and immediately back into 1st, and it slides in very smoothly.
Going from 2nd to 1st also makes the issue go away. This happens basically every time on the first shift into 1st, while the second shift is always smooth.
Is this normal for the GR86, or could it indicate an issue with the synchro/transmission?
