As someone who is a life long hard Spurs fan but a relatively new SAFC fan. I'm surprised that the ownership didnt use their fiesta color palate in the futbol club. The whole city already owns the colors, they'd sell out of scarves in a day, and the brand recognition would cool for nickname purposes: Toyota presents "fiesta field" and Wemby and the Jackals chants would translate if we create a shared city culture.
Saw that there's San Antonio Spurs night at Toyota Field against the El Paso Locomotive.
Ik this isn't SAFC specific but I think the mentality of Chicharito here on why he's joining the USL is epic. Great for the league and what he said about there not being a cultural connection with the MLS team out of city is such a big reason ive been so charged to support local
I dont have cable and very few streaming services but I did find a little gem that SAFC vs Indy was on Prime! with that news im watching way more games hopefully SAFC dog walks teams like they did Indy.
Im sure im not alone but the mundial gave me the soccer bug bad. Had me wanting to support a local club and just learned about all the BS about how San Antonio got screwed out of a MLS team bc of Austin, wow thats lame. went to the game against Red Wolves which was great. Hoping to go more often being theres a sizable gap between now and the next Spurs season.
Curious if yall have noticed if SAFC has seen a sizable increase in fans since the WC?
