I have zero clue what direction to take with my epigastric pain?

Hello Everyone,

I have been dealing with epigastric pain for a couple of months now, as well as yellow, frequent stools, yellow tongue, general "sick/cold" feeling, and dull aches near my shoulder, and I am pretty stuck on what to do next?

My situation is a little different from typical heartburn however because I really only feel it when on an empty stomach or a calorie deficit. When I eat I feel better, and I don't really have trigger foods except coffee on an empty stomach which has since been cut out. Because of this pattern I assumed a duodenal ulcer was my cause of issue but my endoscopy revealed that the duodenum was "perfect", and that I only have "mild" inflammation in my esophagus, according to my gastro. What is extremely frustrating is that I am up 12 pounds since April because of this, if I eat way above maintenance, it becomes bearable, sometimes even dissapearing.

I have been on and off PPI's since April and they might help with the direct sternum pain but otherwise my discomfort is still there. Because of the yellow stools I am considering digestive enzymes, but also strongly considering tricyclics, most of my symptoms has its origins from a vomiting episode nearly a year ago (which slowly got worse to the point I felt like having a heart attack in April), which I have read can damage the nerve?

I would love to get some advice or commentary?

Have you any moments with Old People where they don't get what things cost nowadays?

My grandmother gave me $30 dollars today and encouraged me to "host a late summer pizza party!"

Dont get me wrong I love her and appreciate the money but there will be no "party" on that budget.

What am I balancing here between GERD related Chest Pain, but also trapped gas heart issues, and what to do next?

Hello everyone,

About this March I started getting really terrible chest pain that went away completely after taking PPI's (Omeprazole 20 mg a day) for a while. And then some time went by on the meds and I started to get worsening left side pain, vocal strain in the morning with a bit of coughing, palpitations when standing up rapidly, and this weird thumping or sinking feeling in my chest it's kinda hard to describe. I have done some research and apparently it's due to trapped gas/roemheld syndrome/vagus nerve issues.

So I dosed off of the PPI and those symptoms got a little better and then the generic GERD stuff also came back so I have to still take the PPI at those times, etc and I am just so sick of trying to get this balance and I feel like now I'm at the point of meeting the two different mechanisms head on.

Some extra notes in case this helps solve my case: I am H Pylori Negative but regardless I highly suspect that the GERD/chest pain symptoms are duodenitis or a duodenal ulcer (don't know until endoscopy though). This is because unlike most of you guys, food gave me immediate relief while an empty stomach was torture. Another key symptom of the PPI related issues was lightheadedness/brain fog. This is also weird to describe but it goes away with PPI, and not present in the trapped gas issues. Doct. Appointment is scheduled for Monday 6/22 and hopefully an endoscopy is in the picture but I just feel so defeated in trying to find solutions. Regarding stools they have been messed up for a while and they are yellow.

Any advice or pointers are greatly appreciated.
