Author's note: Part of my Mosaic AU. These are Professors in specific subjects working at Kyoto Jujutsu High. Each Professor also handles a specific "division".

Atsuki is the Professor of History for first and second-years at Kyoto Jujutsu High. He also spearheads the Research and Analysis division of the Faculty.

For most of his life, his cursed technique was incomprehensible to him, the details being esoteric for him to fully understand. When he met the Professor of Physics at Kyoto Jujutsu High, they worked together to gradually fathom his technique.

Professor Atsuki’s technique is Time Cradle. As the physics professor put it:

“Western physicist H.G. Wells theorized in the early 20^(th) century that there were three spatial dimensions but also one linear time dimension. According to him, we are 3D creatures that cannot perceive the entirety of the time dimension, but only certain parts of it at once. It is hypothesized that if one were to see all of time, they would perceive everything existing at all possible states at all possible points in time simultaneously. But through our mortal eyes, we only see a segment, one state at one point in time. Like how, while looking at someone’s front, you cannot see their back. Atsuki’s technique allows him to affect time dimensionally in a way that allows us to see different states at different points in time. Like turning someone around to see their front or their back. He can turn time itself.”

Anything that Atsuki can grasp within his hands can be moved in the time dimension through anomalous cursed energy forces. The Professor of Physics is tantalized by this and keeps asking to do experiments on him.

He can move it forward, effectively “aging” the object, or move it backward to return it to a previous state. Curiously, this is not a permanent thing, and if the technique is discontinued, the object will slowly return to its “correct” position in dimensional time.

CURSED TOOLS

Atsuki enlisted the help of those from the Research and Analysis division to create small, hand-sized storage pockets that can fit on his belt. Using this, he created Cursed Caskets, coffin-shaped containers set around Atsuki’s Arsenal Belt.

Cursed Caskets are filled with Ashes, the burnt remnants of grade one and semi-grade one cursed tools or cursed objects. Each casket carries either the ashes of a tool or an object. By applying Time Cradle to the cursed caskets and “reverse” time, the cursed tool emerges from ashes. Once he’s done using them, he speeds time back up until the tools return to being ashes.

There’s something more, though. Always carried with the Professor of History is a mysterious, brown leather Briefcase, the contents unknown. Upon closer inspection, the briefcase isn’t made of regular animal hide, but in fact, the gutted skin of a previous Heavenly Restriction user that had zero cursed energy. Impossibly, the skin acts like a Heavenly Restricted innate domain that prevents anyone, even the Six Eyes, from seeing into them, even though the user has already passed.

I don't think this was really explained? I read Modulo maybe a month or so ago now so I don't really remember much, but I'm interested in the government of jujutsu society in the aftermath of the assassination of the higher-ups.

When they were killed, did other higher-ups take their place and continued their flawed, conservative, and traditional ideals?

Did Satoru Gojo's dream of "reforming the jujutsu world happen"? In that case how? Who handles these affairs? The Kyoto Jujutsu High faculty? Is there a progressive party of higher-ups now?

The birth of Ryomen Sukuna. The birth of Satoru Gojo. Upheavals of their own era that forced everything and everyone else to become even stronger, or hide their weakness in the shadows.

My Mosaic AU works on the foundations of the Ritual of Harmony suppressing cursed energy into people's innate domains or their souls. Curses have always been born by humans, but they always existed as an "other". Now they exist like parasites within humans.

How will the jujutsu sorcerers of the post-Modulo era deal with mosaic spirits?!?!?!!?

Author's notes: The "big bad" of the first main storyline is special-grade mosaic spirit Takiyasha-hime. She's sort of like a variant of Mahito but not entirely! Hopefully you'll learn more about her in my future posts.

• Cursed Technique: Chekhov’s Gun — All elements must come into play.
  • Its application shows all potential targets a flashing vision of a cursed tool, cursed object, or a regular non-cursed object. The specific object from the vision is psychically controlled by the user, requiring intense detail and knowledge to correctly envision without the object breaking or simply not existing due to it breaking some physical law. After a time window dependent on the power of the envisioned object, the user can temporarily summon it with all of the properties they envisioned the object with.
  • Special-grade cursed tools are usually impossible for a regular user of Chekhov’s gun to create, however, if one were as knowledgeable as a cursed toolsmith in crafting these extremely powerful tools, they could have the capacity to create such tools.
  • The main weakness of Chekhov’s gun is that everyone can see what the user is attempting to conjure. However, precise manipulation of the technique allows the user to conjure their desired object in “segments”, so their opponents can only see a part of what they’re attempting to conjure. For example, instead of envisioning an entire rifle, the user could first envision the bayonet, and next the scope, and etc., potentially able to throw off other people before the bigger picture can come into view. The user could also envision segments for multiple different objects at the same time, although this can be confusing even for the user itself, and exhausting in terms of cursed energy usage.
• Cursed Technique Reversal: Loose Plot Threads  — Temporarily forget an element ever existed.
  • Confiscates an element of a target’s cursed technique, but it cannot completely eradicate it. This takes the form by either ① confiscating targets, or ② confiscating conditions. For example, ① confiscating a body part from being targeted by Nanami’s Ratio Technique, but not the whole body; ② confiscating the condition that Todo needs to clap his hands to activate Boogie Woogie, acting as a support-type effect.

Author's note: I've been burnt out for the past few weeks, but I think I've made something that I'm sort of happy with. This is based on one of my older concepts. This new style of infographics is also inspired by CAIN, a board game which I really like that's inspired by the likes of Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen.

In Tongues (異言 Kotogen) is an innate technique that fully converts cursed energy into soundwaves. Instead of applying cursed energy to sound, like Cursed Speech, or amplifying pre-existing sounds through cursed energy, like Sound Amplifier, In Tongues breaks down cursed energy to release massive bursts of vibration.

STANDARD APPLICATION
The technique’s standard application completely converts cursed energy into waves in the air. A small drop of cursed energy is enough to conjure a rushing wind.

EXTENSION TECHNIQUE
Using special-grade cursed tool Nirvana (涅槃 Nehan), a sleek matte-black single-barrel handgun, the technique’s user can channel enormous amounts of cursed energy into one concentrated exit point.

Applying the technique results in Evisceration, a nearly infinite-range straight shot that rips apart anything in the way. It can pierce through dense metal and even sorcerers that are highly reinforced with cursed energy.

REVERSAL APPLICATION
The cursed technique reversal, Vehemence, targets the user’s body and transforms them into pure sound waves. While in this sound-state, the user must constantly maintain the “frame” of their soul and body, or else their body will become disfigured and automatically exit the sound-state.

While in the sound-state, the user can selectively phase through walls and matter. However, they are not completely invulnerable, because jujutsu attacks and other vibrations can disrupt the user’s body. 

Temporarily becoming pure sound lends itself to total invisibility, but there is always some form of background noise that clues other people into the fact that something is off here.

Lastly, while Vehemence is active, the user can float in the air and even fly nearing sonic speeds.

WEAKNESSES
The total conversion of cursed energy into soundwaves also means that no cursed energy is hitting the target. This is not recognized as jujutsu, so it is especially weak against cursed spirits, which are intrinsically tough against non-cursed energy attacks.

Instead, the technique is more so utilized for surveillance and assassination, with the last two users of In Tongues having infamous professions in said fields.

I think one of the less unexplored parts of Jujutsu Kaisen is the sorcery regarding talismans and written magic. We know that you can sort of "imbue" a curse into a talisman, but what else could you do with that? What potential gimmicks could this entail?
