I'm I in the wrong for asking my partner to take on feral cat care?
I have been living with my partner for two years and we've decided we don't want to do that anymore. We arent breaking up, but Im moving out of the house he has owned for 10 years. In the past 6 months I've been feeding feral cats in our front yard. They are the relatives of the cat we adopted together when she was a kitten. They've all been spayed. I'm moving out and I asked if he would feed the feral cats. I said I would buy the food for 6 months or so, but asked if he would take it on after that. He said no, he things he's being nice just by offering to feed them, that I should pay for the food indefinitely. I think he will fall in love with the cats in six months or so. Who is responsible for the cats? Me because I started feeding them in the first place? Does it change if he falls for them? I thought offering to buy the food for 6 months or even a year was reasonable. As I'm typing this, I'm seeing that maybe it is not... Thoughts? For more context, we also share a dog. The pets are very important to us. We will have to share custody of the dog once I move out.
