I’m old enough to have been around in the beginning - back in the days when that was an excellent place to hang out. It was full of all sorts and it had a light moderation too.
Then after S7/8 all the genuine fans went through the 5 stages of grief then got bored and gave up, and a lot of really unpleasant swivel eyed loons moved in who enjoy any good reason to hate on a show as almost a matter of principle.
They spent years just recycling the same shit and reposting the same increasingly extreme memes. They were basically just a small group of idiots circle jerking.
When HoD season 1 was released there was a lot of positivity and fans started reposting on there and the sub became a weird place - it was like people had come back to work after a long vacation only to find a bunch of morons hanging around the office, putting their feet on the desks. They got pushed out of the sub, briefly.
Then when there was S2 of HOTD and the same group of odious fuckers smelled controversy and criticism and they moved back in - they feed on it like vampires.
Now the place is just horrible again - a really shit place, and it’s sad to see how some folk can take over a sub. Freefolk was the best GOT sub at one time and it’s awful to see what can happen.
Is it really just because some people have started to attack Millie for her looks? She certainly hasn’t said anything that could possibly piss some people off. Not that I’d give a shit but there’s no suggested LGBTQ love interest either. She was getting wall to wall praise after her performance in HOTD season 1.
It can’t be because certain groups are angry this is gonna be a ‘woke girl boss’ effort with a new ‘female insert’/ ‘gender swap’- even if I try to understand things from that pov, it makes no sense.
It’s Supergirl - she’s been an OG character for near on 70 years. We know who she is and we know what she can do.
The story isn’t some Hollywood ‘tHe MeSsAgE’ either since the comic is well known and has been in print for some years.
