Just bought this beauty a couple of weeks ago
5 years ago, it was renovated for rust, and repainted. It has been standing in a garage since, and in the 14 years the previous owner had it, he only drove 1000km. In 2 weeks I have almost driven the same.
It has some small damages in the paint here and there I am gonna fix, other than that the body seems as new.
Earlier today I bought some new things for it:
Disc brake conversion kit.
New barrel locks, as I have 3 different keys that can open the locks
Central locking kit
Keyless entry + alarm
Servo kit for the brakes
New indicator stalk. As I see smoke when turning on high beams
Wiper stalk
Petrol tank sender unit + seals. As of now, the tank is always half full
Soundproofing kit
New carpets
Heater valve + cable
Haynes manual
The engine have not been renovated, but only driven around 40000km. Odometer stopped working at 39999.9km, so I need that fixed as well.
Hoping the soundproofing kit and soundproofing carpets make a difference, cuz damn the car is noisy. Love it anyways.
It seems when I drive in rainy weather in the highway, water comes in through the speedometer :( how do I fix that? Also, there are weld seams in the trunk where water tends to collect, does anybody have an idea where the water comes from, because it seems the weld seams does not have any drain hole, so best solution would be to make sure water cant get in? Pretty sure this weld seam is one of those seams the car is born with.
Wondering how other Mini owners reaction is to me saying I am gonna drive it in the winter? Any recommendations to prepare for winter? I am in Denmark, so I'll be driving it in snow and road salt.
Probably have a 1000 other question, but cant think of any more right now.
